That's a bit edgy given this morning's events!

This is the problem. We did have enough to meet our obligations before Green took over.

I've spoken to Calvert, they had steadied the ship, no debt, income/outgoings were balanced.
Then Green appeared as a complicating factor, and he was invited into the club by Whitcut.

Then 2years later, we're bust. And the owner is now being investigated for obtaining money by deception & false accounting.

If any criminality is proven, how is any of this the fault of the players, staff, fans or indeed, the RFL?

Just think if we'd got that kick at Wakefield.

I would just be weary about mentioning this considering the only source for this "news" is the less than reputable Mr Gledhill.

For a while the new club will not be able to sponsor overseas players so they are gone.

Didn't 'fax do something similar in 1991? Or am I dreaming? There's been a precedent set somewhere IIRC

I posted the following earlier today , the decision to liquidate Bradford was known last night . The RFL did not want Gary to issue a public statement. The RFL sanctioned a buyer but Gary was not convinced at the authenticity financially .

"Bradford Bulls have now entered liquidation, it has emerged. Coach Rohan Smith did not wish to comment but is believed to be shocked. Joint administrator Gary Pettit licensed Insolvency Practitioner has claimed there were four serious bidders keen to buy the club, though all interest has ended. The Bulls debts are thought to be well over £1.4 million and they have had their RFL membership terminated . The RFL will make a statement later today ."

This statement was prepared last night but the RFL blocked it .

It's never been a level playing field. This now confirms it never will be.

Had to check, sounds bad but i dont read papers or listen to news so tend to be oblivious to goings on! realise thats quite bad now

Immense value? This arrogance is what has got you into this position. Championship was fine before Bradford Bulls and will be fine after it. Just has Super League has gone on without you. The money we loose from an extra 2k attendance once a season will be more than replaced by sharing out your £300k central funding.

I tend to agree with that but it also devalues the Championship having no team for Hull KR to play at the summer bash. Teams getting byes every week in the league and season tickets at all clubs now being worth less than what they were bought at (plus club's losing income).

So either way it's not really very good is it? RFL are in between a rock and a hard place brought about the people that have run Bradford Bulls over the last 10-15 years.

Personally I'd prefer to sit the season out and see a new club formed properly and not at the last minute. Apply for entry into League 1 and build properly from there. Even if it means years as a semi pro team with no academy etc. At least it would be right.

You've perhaps not noticed but the whole competition structure is predicated on 12 teams per league.

That won't happen. Without a club there isn't any central funding to share out.

You'll just have to lose a player or two.

Its not at all their fault. But neither is it a reason to give a new Bradford the gift of free entry into the Championship. Tolouse, Toronto and many others had to start at the bottom and work their way up. Why does your successive screw ups make you eligible for special treatment?
A new club has to earn its place in the second tier.

Very difficult circumstances now regarding re-staffing.Unless someone bankrolls to enable continuity of existing playing staff full time as prior. Then, indeed, we face losing most, if the decision is to go part time.Has to be development of Odsal and get the lease back otherwise we would be back where we started.

Agree El Red. Rohan was in cahoots with Green and Duffy at the time with all three knowing the money had run out, yet still signing players in the hope of gambling that they would sell enough season tickets to see out the off season.

Marc Green was down on the creditors list for £960,000 when I have it on good authority he never put anything close to that in.

I have my suspicions who the RFL are going to favour in this new bidding process and you be rest assured that now there's a clean slate to build on, some of the people currently working at the club who have contributed to the decline of the bulls will be out the door.

Rules can be changed at a moments notice it would seem, we have no TV coverage obligating us to have 12 teams unlike SL. So more money for all of us.
