| How long a contract was Jimmy given? The way players have been frozen out it might be an expensive off season if they're looking to get rid of them all. They may not afford to let Jimmy go as well.
A good win here and there has kept the pressure off Jimmy but given the full time squad that he has had to work with, ultimately we've not been good enough.
Even if we somehow manage to gain promotion our inconsistency has been an issue all year, something that isn't acceptable in SL. Injuries haven't helped but some of his selections are mind boggling.

Even without this i'm not confident we'd have got anything. Past two games haven't looked like scoring more than a few tries in a game. We do seem to be shipping it out when we have no halves.

| You have to look at the team selection. Playing a centre and a back rower in the halves when we had a 7 on the bench is just bizzare, and even when we brought him on it wasn't till the second half. Clare being dropped at the expense of Mendeika is laughable, though I suppose (hope) Mullaney was originally selected there before his illness. How many defensive errors did Mendeika make? Made Dixon's performance from the cup final look good!
Our discipline was awful. Hull KR weren't brilliant - they didn't need to be. We gifted them field position over and over and over again with silly errors and penalties. Lauaki's and Williams' sin-bins were inexcusable. Lauaki should've seen red IMO.
I hope Mullaney is back next week, of course, but even if he is I think Leigh will win comfortably. We've played 120 mins of rugby since half-time against Widnes - scored 4, conceded 90. Looking very grim for us at present.

| Right I'll tell you what I've heard and this is by no means happening at this moment in time. This has come from somebody within the game, James Lowes is under increasing pressure, as we could of guessed and a possible replacement for him is Brian Smith
We have also signed Mitch Clarke from Doncaster

| This set of players in general cannot defend and don't seem to have the appetite or ability to do it. Its not something that can be coached into a player, they either have it or don't. With the majority of the squad tied up for next season there is no reason to believe that it will be any different to this. A decent winning run in the Championship and well short of what is required to challenge for promotion. I hope I'm wrong but I just can't see it.
Next week against Leigh will define exactly where we are in for next year.

We'll I'm glad to hear that he's under pressure. I'd hate to think that we could just coast through this year and hope that next year we're a bit better.
Obviously Smith would be a good coach. He'd certainly get that defense in shape anyway. There are very few proven coaches about at the moment. If I could pick any I'd go for Darryl Powell.

| The only consolation is that we came back from a hammering at Wakey to record a great victory against Salford. I've not fully lost hope yet as they must have the capability there somewhere.
It matters next week, big time, and we all knew it would but even should we make the million pound game there is absolutely nothing to show we could win it. The second yellow did for us today and it probably should have been red. I didn't expect us to beat Rovers but I was disappointed, again, with how we fell away after looking fairly decent in first 30 minutes.

| The Salford game was an anomaly. We don't know what exactly is going on behind the scenes over there, but it seems obvious that there's more than a few ruffled feathers thanks to the mad Doctor. So Salford turned up with clearly the wrong mindset and we actually turned up to play and got some luck on the day.
I think actually, the Salford result has actually done us more harm than good as it seems to have made the players think they can just turn up and it's a win when we clearly don't have the skill or tactical ability to do that

| As bad as that was (and it was bad), you put Clare, Gaskell and Mullaney in that team and get rid of Walker and Mendieka and we might still have a chance.
I'm expecting two of those to be back next week. Question marks still over Gaskell. It's just typical of our terrible luck that our most influential player would pick up such an awkward injury. I think the spine of Leigh's side by comparison has been available throughout the whole season.

Walker was your best player today. Certainly the most threatening in attack IMO.

| Unless Gaskell just wasn't risked today then you have to say playing him next week would be a massive gamble given how sensitive he might be to a big hit. Last thing we need in that game is to lose an interchange or two early on.

Like the contestants assessing a shot at Bully's Star Prize after failing to hit a red on the prize board, it's a gamble we just have to take.

| It's an obvious truism but next week is now 'all or nothing'
That means we have to somehow people up and get the spine of the team right. By which I mean Mullaney at FB, Gaskell at 6 and Siejka at 7
I know everyone bags Siejka, and I have too, but at least we looked vaguely organised when he came on today. Not surprising as we actually had someone playing in their correct position.
I don't want to see Purtell anywhere but centre next week, or Mendeika anywhere near the 17. Addy probably on the bench.
We've simply got to get a 17 on the pitch who are playing in their actual positions. Doesn't sound that hard does it?

| A decision will be made on Jimmy when they discuss one thing - season ticket sales.
Lose just 500 sales and that is at least £100k. Add in the loss of walk up spectators now they realise how this championship competition works = 11 home games where only a hand full are actually worth watching. How many will think about that and decide to pay on the day for the 3-4 that are worth watching.
This season has been a novelty going away to grounds I haven't been to for many years. That isn't the case next year. Do I really want a season ticket to watch about 6-7 teams that are not worth watching?
When Green and Ferres have a quiet chat and think about that they might just see a pay-off to Jimmy as a reasonable investment. We have re-signed players but no word about Harrison.
We probably can't sign top players to hold ST sales but bringing in a highly respected coach - well, that could do it and inject that feel good factor again and help push ST sales.
It all depends on the numbers but it must be going through their minds.
I couldn't go today and watched Sky and there was a point where the camera caught Lowe's sat next to Duffy in the stand and Jimmy was looking at the floor after us letting in yet another try and Duffy looked at Jimmy and the expression on his face was a picture of disgust. I thought then that there is one person at the club who has lost faith in Jimmy.
It seems awful to say but I actually think Leigh should get the £1m game and not us as they have been the best championship team by a long way this year. They are a team. We are just a bunch of players. I want us to get it but it would be unfair to Leigh if I was being honest as we have been poor all year and hardly put in a full performance other than playing woeful Salford. I thought we would beat Leigh next week but I am now doubtful as the team don't look interested. Have they listened to Jimmy for too long and it has no affect any more?

I must say that whenever the camera panned to him today it seemed he had an air of a beaten man. Actually felt a bit sorry for him...

| Well Widnes look like putting a score on Wakey. If we beat Leigh next week (and it's a big if) the second half capitulation of the last two week would cost us a home game in the million pound game which would be huge!
I think someone tweeted the last two second halves combined would be a result of 90-0!!!

| At the start of the season everyone knew that the Bulls were behind the 8 ball, salary cap etc. At the start of the Middle 8's everyone would take beating all the other Championship Teams plus 1 SL win.
Well thats exactly what the Bulls are on course for and that would give them a shot at the £1m game and promotion. Which Bulls fan would have knocked that back 5 weeks ago, i'll bet not one.
Now is a time, more than ever, to get behind your team (including Seijka who played well against us when on today) and roar them on next week against a Leigh team that are up themselves. Don't forget HKR did to them what they did to the Bulls in the second half of the first game.
As they say BULLieve, you just never know but promotion may only be 3 weeks away.

| Neutral view here chaps. Watching the game today it was plainly obvious that 1. the players are not playing for the coach and 2. Lowes does not have a plan b and by some of the comments on here about freezing players out etc that seems true. I must admit i don't see a lot of championship games due to them not being on sky any more etc so don't really know how your season has been. Obviously i have been checking the results and table and you were up there all year. I think though, beating Leigh away is too much to ask and i think the ship has sailed for this season. Next season for the Bulls is HUGE, if you don't make some serious signings and keep the better players you still have you are in danger of becoming a sleeping giant in the championship. I was hoping both you and Leigh would come up this season. 1. so i could laugh at Leigh and their 'throw their money at middle of the road players' approach and 2. Wakefield in SL instead of Bradford. It's a travesty. They are the Broncos of SL.
All the best for next season, You need rid of bad eggs like Lauaki. I was in Wigan town centre a couple of years ago in a coffee shop at the counter and also being served was Lauaki. A day earlier i had been watching the second team at Orrell and he played, He actually had a decent game, (although he was running at teenagers) I said to him "Good game yesterday Ephelame, i was there, that was a great break you made in the second half" Now i am not a small chap. I am 6ft 4" and about 15 and a half stone. He just looked at me with the same look he has all the time and just grunted at me. no 'thank you', no 'cheers mate' or nothing, just pure contempt that somebody had spoken to him. All he ever seems to do is scowl at people and just act like a thug. You don't need folk like that at Odsal. Mickey Mac is a bit like that at Wigan but he will speak to you and has earned the right to be a 'tough guy' because he can play rugby too. Lauaki is just a waste of wages. I can't believe he is still getting contracts.

Thank you for your kind comment...at the moment we are all quite stunned at the differences between SL and Championship, but we did however think we would have put forward a better performance even if we weren't winning we at least made a game of it.
