Don't Know what game you was watching! Did more work than Elima today, best game for some while after a pretty bad injury, not to get carried away though, after all we were only playing Crusaders!

Still not answered my question. And how do you keep OOC players who've stated they want to leave?

| Play always breaks down with Langley. He does get through a ton of work in defence, but I think he really needs to work on his ball handling. I only noticed 1 pass from him today.
I think if we do lose Lynch then Langley into the front row wouldn't be a bad move.
Hopefully he'll stay injury free next season and we'll see the best of him again.

His tackling was very very poor. Elima looked much more deadly with ball in hand. Mr Langley has a long way to proving to me that he deserves to be our starting LF. I'd rather play Addy.

Maybe that's his game at the moment!, I've seen a steady improvement in him and to date that was his best game for a while! One injury hit season doesn't make a bad player!
As you say an injury free Langley is an asset, letting him go at this stage would be a bad move!

Again im at a loss why you think his tackling was poor??? Elima's always looking for the big hit then goes missing! Langley did a shed load more work in defense! I'd say Elima's more playing at loose, Langleys a defending second rower, Agree with Elima's attacking game is a lot better than Langley at the moment, when we've been on top, not often this season, when we haven't, Elima's been nowhere to be seen! Like the rest of the team, including Langley who was recuperating from a pretty bad injury!
The opta stats also show that even though Elima has played more than double Langley has, in defense Langley has more than held his own percentage wise! which was my o/p!

I agree that Elima often goes in for the big hit with little success and normally Langley is a grafter in defence. But today he looked sluggish in pushing up in defence, missed one when one of the crusader players coasted throught to score under our posts, and was brushed aside a couple of times due to failing to put his shoulder in. I personally don't see Langley as a loose anymore. For me he is a 2nd row as he certainly plays like one. I wish he would offload more as i know he can have that attack game , as we saw it in 2005!

One injury hit season? More like 3!! The man is stealing wages ITs a travesty the ££ he is on and how poor and constantly injured he is. Get him out he is wasting precious salary cap

| He can't have "wasted precious salary cap" this season, because we have not been spending to the cap.
If you sacked him his termination cost would count under the cap till the end of his contract.
He earns us an extra £50k salary cap anyway because of the ten year rule.
Now, where were we?

| Langley's and to a lesser extent, Scruton's fitness is a massive concern. Langley is simply never getting a run of games together in order to find any form. He's contracted for 2 more years, will be a high earner and I'm sad to say looks shot. I hate to hear him getting knocked as he got the injuries putting it all in for the club but 10-12 games a season look like the norm now.
The situation with Scruton is also a major concern and I'm beginning to wonder if this lad will ever fulfil his potential. The diabetes can't be helping and this recurring wrist issue, along with hernia/pubis bone problems. If we are to to challenge for the 8 next year these 2 guys need to play 20 matches each and right now that looks very unlikely.

| to go back to the original thread topic, did the p.a announcer when giving the teams say "for the last time, your captain number 10 Andy Lynch" ? he may well have been refering to the end of season but then wouldnt he say this at the beginning of the team line up, and for the whole team not just lynch. 2+2=5

or an a more hopeful thought, the last time he'll be captain?
I really hope he doesn't leave. Our best prop by a country mile.

| I [ithink[/i he said "And now for the last time [uthis season,[/u number 10, your captain, Andy Lynch"
But I agree it was a slightly odd thing to say, to pick out just Andy Lynch in that way

That would be correct.
At least he scored on his final Odsal appearance in the famous RAB if he does move on to the KC Stadium.

| If Lynch goes then we must face the facts that there aren't any English prop forwards available that match the qualities and attributes that Andy Lynch possesses.
The stats don't lie (Lynch is in the top 5 for yards made) and while some supporters have been all too happy to comment/voice an opinion about the effort/commitment/form/leadership of our captain, I'll echo what Adey said in that "You don't know what you had till it's gone".

IF that is true - stressing IF - then it would be very telling wouldn't it? A captain not showing up to something the whole squad is meant to attend isn't great....unless there is a hidden reason

| It appears that Andy may have played his final game for the club at Odsal. I can completely understand the decision for him to earn one final pay day at the KC and it's not as if we've not had years of decent service from him.
Hull get one of our most consistent performers and we get a bit of room to spend on strengthen the squad. Hopefully the club have located a replacement and I pray that he is in the same calibre of Lynch. Perhaps some of the spare money can be used to keep Tom Burgess at the club for years to come? Potentially the future leader of our pack.
Dip in form or not he is still one of the best British props in the game.

| It'd be a shame to see Lynch leave but wouldn't be the end of the world as long as we have a replacement lined up.
Langley has got to move out or loose man and up to the front row. He plays very similar to Lynch now anyway, drive the ball up and tackle.

| If Lynch went we'd need to bring in a decent replacement. The props we've got aren't at his level. Scruton is injury plagued, Kopczak tries to do too much fancy stuff albeit he has improved a bit, Burgess is still very raw and Hargreaves is very average.
