Consistent individual errors from the players he recruited you mean?
And I thought the word on here is that he was not sacked (even though he most probably was) so a bit of an error on your part that I guess you will be corrected on later in the thread (ain't read it all yet)

| i went to match as my partner is a season ticket holder.was a poor game with 2 poor teams are tackles at times were worse then school boys and the 1st brough try why on earth no one hammered him in goal i will never know as would have been a drop out.
thought ian smith was crap as normal as the play the ball was a joke too much slowing the play down and lost count how many forward pass salford got away with.
think personaly we looked lost for ideas addy tried hard but defo not a scrum half why we arent playing southernwood.
think theres at least 6 players who have to go from bulls who just arent good enough and im not impressed with hall as seems to be blowing all the time defo not fit

It's pretty close yeah. It was a little earlier in the week than Thursday and dad was 51, but it's certainly close enough. Was told about it earlier in the week but didn't want to publicise as it wasn't my place to do so. I'm sure all fans would feel for him and the family right now, and perfectly understandable that he was allowed some time off to deal with it.

| Back to the game and not sure if anyone has noticed (and apologies if they have already mentioned it), but although we're 10th in the table, Crusaders actually have a game in hand on us (which I think they're playing the weekend of the Challenge Cup Semis), which if they win, they will be above us. So we're essentially 11th. Woeful isn't it?

Yeah it has. I'm pretty sure it's one of the Challenge Cup weekends (since both are out). Think it's the weekend of the semis, which is in a couple of weeks.
Quote ="bigchris"We're not essentially anything, we're 10th, simple as that.'"
For now. But we could be 11th from something that is completely out of our hands, so we can consider ourselves as 11th too. It sounds quite worrying to be hoping for Harlequins to do us a favour.

After recent displays there seems to be plenty of scope for Potter to tighten up the defense.

| Woeful sums up the whole day nicely I feel.
Two questions I have about a couple of incedents (sorry if they've been mentioned elsewhere) the Salford 40/20 which set up the 2nd try, was it kicked on the 7th tackle? I could have sworn the ref had his hand up on the last when the ball went backwards, was recovered by salford who then played the ball with the ref still with his hand up and then they hit the 40/20. I could be wrong mind.
Secondly, just before half time, langley drives it in to a tackle 10 out the ball comes out of the tackle and ends up in the salford in goal, the ref waves play on and I swear I heard him shout "play on ripped" we then touch it down and he calls it back for the "1st knock on" Head and feed to Salford. (I heard him as I was stood near that corner)
Doesn't effect my views on a poor display but they were two elements which confused me at the time so anyone with a definte answer would be appreciated... but maybe I just wasn't paying attention, like the players.
And the other thing that bothered me was the amount of times we didn't attmept tackles round the legs, two player go to tackle one Salford player, both lazily attack a shoulder, Salford player breaks tackle, shock. I think there were too many players hoping someone else would step up either on attack or defence. Zero confidence, poor drilled technique, no creativty but hardly surprising that with no regonised half backs in the team.
Even with all that I still feel we could have won that game with some composure in attack and defence, but we won't have that I suspect until we have a fully fit squad and a good preseason. Roll on 2011, that can't be any worse....can it?

I was under the same impression, as were quite a few people around me. I started questioning myself afterwards in a "was I just thinking it was the last tackle coz they kicked, but they'd actually kicked early" style, but quite a few people seemed to think the ref had his hand up for last tackle, then let them have one more, with his hand still up. As you say, they then kicked a 40/20 and scored from the next set.
I'd quite like to see the video of it just to see if the ref really did have his hand up, because I'm not sure I trust my own memory of it.
(Disclaimer for any non-Bulls fans: I am not in any way suggesting the referee affected the result. A couple of questionable decisions for Salford were at least evened out by some questionable ones in our favour too)

Highlights are on the super league website (not sure if we're allowed to post links to them like we're not for video sharing sites?), doesn't show the 40/20 though.

I also thought the same. A few people around me wondered if the referee had called another set of six but that would lead you to wonder why Salford would then go on to kick on the first tackle of the next set.
I wondered if his hand gesture on the previous tackle had been interpreted as the fifth by the crowd but actually wasn't as none of the Bradford players seemed to challenge him?

He definitely had his hand up for the last tackle when they kicked the 40/20. That much I am sure about. So it wasn't the tackle count being wiped, unless he managed to only give them 1 more instead of 6. I suspect you may be right in that it was a different gesture from the ref which people misinterpreted as the last tackle. May even be that the Salford players did the same, hence why they went for a kick (which was blocked).

Well I'm just thankful it wasn't just me seeing things . Need to see the video really, but even if I had it I'm not sure I'd bother putting myself through it.

| Personally I'm looking forward to the Grand Final, since I'll be going for the full day regardless and getting somewhat drunk while stopping over in Manchester. It'll be nice to be able to go and be with a different set of fans than the Leeds & Saints lots AGAIN and nice to see a different match. That's probably gonna be the highlight of my season now, as I've completely written off the Bulls making the playoffs. Yes, it would be sweet, but it just ain't gonna happen. As far as we go, I'd like to hear a couple of contract renewals (and a couple of people signing for other clubs) as well as some new signings, since I'm very much looking to next season for our club.

Well there is that
From the league table, I'm HOPING that it won't be the same final. I've been to the last 9 Grand Finals and 3 on the trot with the same teams (when it doesn't include your own team) gets old. 4 on the trot would be a killer and I don't think I'd be pre-buying again like I do now (at the moment, I buy tickets as soon as they go on sale, pretty much straight after the latest Grand Final). If it's Leeds/Saints again this year, I'll hold off buying tickets for it until I know who's there next year.

| Anybody watch Menzies after the final whistle yesterday?
Just walked over to his friends and family in the Coral stand, held his hands up and shrugged as if to say "What more can I do, I'm in a team full of amateurs."
One of the most depressing things about the last two seasons is that Steve's time here is severely limited, and it's almost like it's being wasted given the state the club is in.

No, no it isn't, it may be in Greater Manchester but certainly not the City of Manchester. Just for a little history lesson Salford has never been in Manchester however Manchester was once part of Salford
