| Awful, boring, dour spectacle but another win. Not much to say really. Referee just didn't seem to be d to penalise slowing in the ruck of either side. Chisholm probably had his worst game in a Bulls shirt and looked to be struggling at times, but its 80 minutes in the bank. Improvements needed for next 2 games

| Well, first game of the season for me, and not one that I'm going to remember for years to come, that's for sure!
I suppose it was a comfortable win i.e I never thought we would lose. But, not a spectacle - and very little to excite a decent enough crowd for this level. Peltier was the best forward on the pitch, closely followed by Crossley, the rest were bang average. No real strike out wide - Grant will never have an easier hat trick - 1 from a dropped ball and 2 walk-ins. But what's happened to Ryan? As for Chisholm, he needs to cut out those Harlem Globetrotter passes, there wasn't one that came off
We won't beat Oldham playing like that.

| Fairly dull game but we got the 2 points. I felt that Hunslet would be a bit tougher to beat. Hopefully we can go back to back next week and advance in the cup.
I felt Keyes was the difference for us as Chisholm had a bit of nightmare (what was that drop out about?!). His kicking to Grant was excellent. 2 really well taken tries. Also, Steve Crossley had an exceptional game doing some big minutes.

| Thought Hallas was great in the first half. Scooted from dummy half successfully a few times and deserved his tries. Didn't notice him in the second. Who got official MoM? Presumably Keyes or Grant?

| Keyes was man of the match.
Very scratchy win today. Chisholm is still a bit off the pace and trying a bit too hard.

| Strange game today, none of our players looked like they wanted to be out there. The poor reffing of the 10 meant that neither team had much space to work the ball so it ended up being a bit of a slog on a pitch that still looks heavy.
It sounds like John Kear thought that was nowhere near what he considers to be an acceptable performance either so hopefully he gets them right in training before Friday.

| I agree with what has been said so far. I have seen all the competitive matches so far this season and I hoped by now they would be in some sort of form. The York match was really exciting and we were perhaps a little fortunate to get both points. There was a substantial step forward at Keighley but to me today was a step back(even if only a minor one). We looked very disjointed at times and found a few novel ways of handing the ball to the opposition. Having said that I think we were still worth the win but the Bulls need to make another big step up if they are to beat Oldham on Friday.

| We looked sluggish and put to much ball to ground. The fluency wasn't there, but that's probably because Pickersgill and Keyes have practiced and played together all season this far. Dane looked in a rush, but.at least he was making breaks. Not terrible but needs to be more to beat Oldham next week.

| For my money the highlight from the Keighley game was how they pressured them in every area of the pitch in attack and defence particularly for the first 30 minutes, then played some attractive rugby off the back of that. Today looked like they wanted to play the pretty stuff without putting in a shift. That said like dddooomm I thought Crossley was first class today, Bustin and Hallas also making good yards particularly in the first half. Love watching Chisholm but he looks understandably very rusty.

| We won that's the main thing. But the official was the worse I have seen in a long time. The lines men didn't do anything.
We need to be 100 times better next week and the official needs to be on point. Unfortunately I can't go as my son is playing at Featherstone vs Toronto. Bad times.

Maybe it was for Scott Moore...

| Being serious for a moment, it was (if I recall the name, apologies if I am slightly wrong) a guy called Paul Fisher who died recently
As well as being Playing Welfare Office, he was also part of Bullbuilder. I'm sure that some on this forum actually knew him (I'm afraid I did not)

| Yes the minute applause was for Paul Fisher who as well as being a BullBuilder committee member was responsible for player welfare at the club.
He was a magnificent servant to the club. A sad loss.

| Game was a slight disappointment for me.
A win's a win, I know, but we looked very disjointed at times. Thought Keyes had a terrific game as did both Peltier and Crossley, Pelts would have been my MOM as some of his carries appeared to be never ending. After a great start to the season I thought Elliot Minchella wasn't quite to the pace of the game yesterday, also Dane Chisholm gave the impression of trying 'a bit too hard' at times and getting it wrong with some wild passes. Without the normal cohesion in the middle of the field it made the game difficult.
Onwards and upwards..

| Kear's post match press conference shows he was very far from happy. He said some had 9/10 performances and others 2/10 performances. I expect everyone was in first thing this morning for the post-mortem
9/10 for me were Keyes, Crossley and Peltier. I also thought Hallas went well and Grant took his chances. The rest were below par.

| Agree Bullseye, Kear was certainly unhappy with that performance. I expect an improvement Friday, and think Oldham could be on the receiving end of a response. I can't see us putting in 2 poor performances on the bounce under Kear.

That's a great point Bullmania. I'm a LOT more confident with this coach that poor performances will be corrected for the next game

| Kear was clearly very unhappy. He said the team has “disrespected” Hunslet and gone out playing like they were 30points up without earning it. While we weren’t ever in any real danger we did coast through that game.
I feel more confident about the Oldham game now which is potentially even tougher than the York game. We’ll need to be putting 100% in and not putting in another half d display. In a weird way yesterday’s performance could have done us a favour in that Kear will be removing any complacency this week.

| Could be some heavy legs in the Oldham camp. Third game in ten days after their midweek cup match at Halifax. Need to be on it from the start to make sure they feel any tiredness they might have.

| I still can't believe we got John Kear. I like the guy. His summing up in the T&A is absolutely spot on so I have nothing to add. he doesn't mince his words, nor should he.

| Agree,John Kear is from the no nonsense,Peter FOX type, school of coaching where he views the game the same as the man on the terraces and isn't scared to speak his mind.Refreshing.Despite the under par performance on Sunday he has the team on the right track. At long last we are on the upward curve.

Echo that 100%, though I suspect the words used in the debriefing in-house would be far stronger, and personal, than the slightly sanitised public one.

| It also makes a refreshing change to be looking so critically at a comfortable win against a team that had won its last 8 competitive matches on the spin. How times are changing.

Ryan has struggled imo with having Smith and now BF at centre this year. A class centre = a class winger
