Not sure I am comfortable the club using vaccination status as a basis for signing a player or not. If a player is good enough, adds quality and improves the team, and is affordable - we should be looking to sign them. Them exercising their personal choice on a vaccination that poses next to zero threat to them and their team mates is just that - their choice'"
It's all a bit moot now
We are obviously committed to Patton and Lilley (with Jowett as back up)
Where would Ford fit in? He isn't going to go somewhere as back up having been the main man at Toulouse for years.

| Patton contract extension is great news. I was very impressed when we signed him and even happier now we’ve got him and Lilley locked down to give us stability in the spine.

| It's good to see the club being proactive and sorting out our halfback partnership with an eye on more than just this season. Patton has looked very good indeed so far. Recognising that it is early days I will stick my neck out and say that he'll prove to be a better signing than Danny Brough.
With Jowitt coming along nicely I don't think we need another halfback really. I think that if we are looking to strengthen then it's at centre where we look a bit thin. Gill and Evans have shown up well so far but if we lost one to injury we're left playing people out of position and centre is such a difficult position defensively for a novice.

Myers and Nichol are decent cover for centres plus MDJ has played centre in the past.

| Myers and Nichol have barely played any competitive games at all so I wouldn't agree they're decent cover. MDJ looks like a better option but I'd feel more comfortable if we had someone that was proven at this level as backup. Evans hasn't got the best injury record (nor has MDJ) and there will come a point when both our first choices get a knock, need a rest or lose form.

| Trouble is are we going to be able to sign a proven centre who is prepared to sit on the sideline until one of our regular centres is injured.

| I doubt we'll get anyone now - maybe a dual reg player from Hull or a loan from Leeds may help if we get injuries. I take your point about who's going to come and sit on the bench but every good team has competition for places. We have it in other parts of the team - I just think we look thin in the centres.

| I think we're light in the backrow which is a pool you can use in other positions. Backrowers tend to be able to defend so can go to centre if they have a bit of pace like Gilmour, or go in to the front row like Radford, or even half back like Addy.
Be interesting to see how he uses Evans if he's playing all 3 hookers.

Certainly one more, preferably two because Murphy is shot, O'Connor isn't our player and might never come and as you say we're already having to stick a prop in as cover by Round 1. Our cover for loose forward (as excellent as he is) is actually our first choice hooker. Oh, and our dual reg partners are looking bring a forward in on loan.

| Quote ="Scarey71"I'd say getting the ground sorted out has to be a far bigger priority than SL at the minute.
Why have a tilt then find yourself in the situation you were ten years ago, struggling to compete in a decaying dump-hole that swallows money.
I'm happy with the team we have and if we aren't sailing to close to the cloth cutting days I think that's the best we can hope for.
I'm sure Niggle's been scheming for years but can he pull it off? He certainly phuqqed up the Thrum Hall debacle so did he learn anything??
He's hinted enough about it, the stands now sponsored by a construction firm and the lease is up at the end of the year with supposedly an option to take it on.
But would you really want to fluke our way into SL with major uncertainties like that hanging around? The grounds an embarrassment so for me, I'd rather be competing at the top of the Ch. until the millstone's gone for good.'" Unfortunately without Superleague nothing is getting done with Odsal.

Shot the messenger if you wish, but as an outsider I’d suggest that nothing happened with Odsal while Bradford were in SL. For me you need the council to grow some dongles and build a new stadium on the Richard Dunn site having bought the whole Odsal lease to then sell it for redevelopment.

| The council are totally broke and certainly won't be spending anything on new stadia. After austerity and a pandemic they've all on to deliver core services.
As for Ford I'm still watching this space...

It would be a crowd pleasing knee-jerk reaction after the debacle yesterday.
I'm only just getting the feeling back into my toes this morning...

I wouldn’t watch the space any longer put it that way. We talk about the club being skint, why would we spend 100k+ on another halfback?
Come on people

Do they come as a package deal or are we only watching out for Ford?
