I'd love it to be Ganson, so we can use the whole night to abuse him over MM, and ask him why he still thinks he is fit to referee after that

We had a similar event a few years ago with Stuart Cummings in the Touchdown bar (as it then was), who I have to say was extremely interesting. He gave a talk about refereeing, working with Sky and all the rest and then came question time. First question of the night was, "Does Russell Smith know the bloody rules", which, pretty much, brought the house down.

Oh, so you think you'll get the chance to see his face then??

Aye, I was taking notes that night for the website. The inevitable question of "With the benefit of hindsight, do you still think you should have sent off Graeme Bradley" came up too

Best bit about that night was when Big Les piped up, with something like "If I was referee don't you worry, all the players would DEFINITELY do what they were told!" - and looked and said like he meant it!

Ganson came out and apologised for his mistake, at least be had the back bone to do so, unlike that horrible little creature Klein, Leeds would never have got the penalty if he hadn't illegally spoken to Ganson via his earpiece.

If he extracts it from Ian Smith's ar se first.
Any ref prepared to put himself forward for the inevitable petty bigotry has even more of my admiration.

That was, maybe, a slight worry with the earlier talk, but actually it went rather well. Stu Cummings (for all his faults

) turned out to be a very personable guy and a good, knowledgeable speaker and [ialmost[/i impossible to dislike. All the leading questions were met with a laugh, from both Stu and the fans present, so the atmosphere was actually superb. I'm sure the vast majority of fans will give due respect, because despite all my complaints about refs, I certainly wouldn't do the job myself, so they deserve that.

At the BISA event a few years ago, Big Les and Mick Withers both said that Klein was one of the better refs, as he continually talked to and explained things to and advised the players.

That was before Millennium Tragic,and we learned that he also apparently continually talked to and explained things to and advised the video ref...

I'm sure fans will give whichever Ref we get due respect - and that includes Mr. Ganson if he is able to attend since he at least apologised for that fiasco. ATEOTD, if anyone reckons they can do a better job (even than Child) I'm sure Rot Hall would be very pleased to hear from them.

But maybe its just as well Klein is no longer a ref in this country...

Because they don't miss tackles, drop the ball, hurl it into touch, make elementary misreads in defence, shoot out the line, kick out on the full or make stupid plays.

Continually blaming referees in any sport is absolutely potty. Players are in control of their own destiny.

Stuart but you were the one having a heated word with the MC at our last home game vs Catalans after Child did us to ruin in that first half.

We had every right to blame the referee, because he was hell bent on destroying the game.

This nonsensical tirade against officials needs to stop. Players win or lose matches. Simple.

But he did give Catalans a 22-9 penalty count.

Anyhow from this very post I will no longer moan, rant or bring down the man in the middle, I can see people are getting fed up with my constant reviewing of every single call that goes against my team, so from this very day, lets talk about the skill we see out there on the field and not fill this forum with page after page of drivel about wrong calls and what the referee should have done.

As GB rightly points out, Child did not miss any tackles (even if he did miss a few other things) . did not drop any passes (even if he did drop a few bollox) and did not let in any tries. I don't recall him trowing that wally pass out to the wing near the end either that blew the match?

Maybe they're bored of the excessive vitriol thrown their way at every game. It has got progressively worse has the season has gone on and it's unsightly at best. Had I taken my daughter and she saw the docile masses foaming at the mouth, she would think it was a scene from Shaun of the Dead.

Interestingly their is an inverse relationship between the teams performance and this caveman response. It's totally uncalled for and the ref hounding needs to be relaxed. Banter and jockeying yes but the abuse is becoming embarrassing to the club as it is at other stadiums. We are in danger of getting to wendyball levels of stupidity.
