This maybe true, but, if the club wants to continue to post a profit or break even, we will need the crowds to increase if we are going to spend to the full cap.

...although folk do need to remember that a lot of the trick is down to how you structure packages, and what is allowed within the prevailing tax and SC rules. I rather suspect that was why Iestyn leaving did not appear to free up the sort of cap space some people assumed it would.

But yes, when you think of the cost of Solomona, Morrison (sadly for too much of the time) and Tupou (presumably till he went) sat in the stands, and Terry must have been on a decent package, then you can only assume we must have some scope now. I suspect it won't be quite as much as some folk think though, given the upgrading of some contracts that has already taken place.

In the Craig Wing article on the T&A site it says that Macnamara has strongly denied any interest in Thorman and that Brough could be a target for the bulls.

It does look like they realise the need for a classy half back hence the reason Jefferies is probably going and they are moving to spend some cash.

Yes, it will almost be like having a new player next season. If Crookes can get a good pre-season under his belt and come out firing at the start of next season it will interesting to see what he can bring to the team...

I think he's just had a bad season, still probably one of the best play makers in the game. I'd love to see him partner Paul Deacon in the halves for 2010, finally we may be able to mount a challenge for the title again!

That said, it is nonetheless true that Thorman has had a bit of a mare this season, apart from when Hull played us and he was excellent...grrrr!! But we need to remember that he actually was a decent player a couple of years ago at Huddersfield, and - if I remember right - was on the fringes or even part of the International set up.

If - and it [iis[/i a massive 'if' - he can recapture that form...well.. who knows??
