It was on twitter as part of the Q&A that took place after the game. He did say the wrong call was made regarding the disallowed try.
However what he also said (that our Wakey friend conveniently forgot to mention) was that the ref also admitted to not seeing Jay Pitts being held back by a Wakey player when Gaskell broke clean through towards the end of the first half. Jay would have scored, but the chance went begging instead.

So it's sticks and stones really.

Silverwood could of course have said this to offset his blunder in disallowing the try to even things up who knows, one thing for sure though Mathers scored which he DID see whereas he DID'NT see Pitts being pulled back so who actually saw him being pulled back?.

Err, the only time I recall Wakefield being in the top 8 was the first year Bradford were docked points due to this on going fiasco. Without that, it would have been Bradford in the play-offs not Wakefield. So, that's hardly competitive, is it?

And as for competing? You got a kicking off Leeds. Not really anyone's definition of competing, is it?

Well it's a bit of a gamble but hopefully Jimmy will have improved considerably since his last head coach job in SL. I'm not expecting miracles this year but I hope he can at least squeeze a few decent results out of this bunch of players before the season ends.

As for the Wakefield fans, well I wouldn't be feeling too cocky if I were them. On 4k crowds they'll need the increase in funding to balance the books. I can't see them improving their squad massively from this year. They'll be SL whipping boys once again next year, I expect they'll be thankful for the split after 23 rounds.

If you take some time to speak to people who have followed TGG for more than a couple of years they will certainly tell you about Wakey in 2004. They finished 6th won a terrific play off game at hull and were very unlucky to lose narrowly at Wigan.

When fans have no sense of the games history they can miss so much.

Spot on there, the difference at Wigan was the try we had disallowed, rightly or wrongly the ref ruled it out and that was that unfortunately.

Can't believe I missed it, must have been the number of times you've finished in the spot above the relegation zone. Such as 3 times in a row from 2001 - 2003, the aberration of a play off appearances in 2004 and 2009 and then back to relegation dodging the following two years.

Your own lack of knowledge of your history should be more of a concern for you than trying to take some strange moral high ground.
