Yes he is. It has been a baptism of fire for Geoff Toovey and with the right selection of players - playing against similar grades of RL he will be fine. He didn't stand a chance with young players against seasoned players - loan players who were taken back at crucial times and a 12 pt deduction.

Have you seen his record at Manly in the NRL? Of course he's good enough for Origin. NSW have appointed far less experienced coaches than him up to now. What had Laurie Daley done to get the job?

Slightly puzzling question, to be honest.

I don't think there is any question that he can guide a top quality side to victories - that is clearly something he can do very well and indeed, already has. What he's not done, so far in his career, is get a very poor side to play better or even improve slightly. Agree that it's been a far from easy ride at the Bulls, in fact it the been the sort of job I wouldn't have wished on anybody, but he accepted it and unsurprisingly, as I it would have been an extremely big ask for anyone, he hasn't covered himself in glory. That doesn't reflect even remotely on what he does best, imo.

What's gone on this year is irrelevant to Toovey's CV, even JC wouldn't have prevented us from being regularly crucified.

Would be useful for turning the rain at Odsal into Beer though. And feeding the 2,000 crowd with the 4 packets of crisps they stock behind the bar.

He's good enough for Leeds to trust their 'future talent' with and lets be fair, the job he did with Lilley he was asked to repeat with Aston.

I hope he stays.

Whether he is the right man is not the question anymore I am more interested in how long the owners allow the situation to drag on.

We'll know by the end of the month at the latest I hope since that's when his contract runs out.

Lee Greenwood seen at Odsal last week

Was it end of this month or November. I dunno why buy November is sticking in my head for some reason. But I'm most likely wrong.

Maybe the assistant coach AC was talking about?

Would like to see him involved in some capacity since he seems to have done the business in C1 with Gloucestershire.

So Toovey due back in the next couple of weeks then sit down and make a decision with the club, no assistant coach at the moment, training due to start a week on Wednesday!!!

He either wants to be here or not..if he ain't sure, then he's hardly what we should be giving the time of day to imo.

It does all seem a bit half d. You'd have thought that we'd have got all this sort of thing tied up before the start of pre season training wouldn't you? I suspect it'll be Toovey.

This the same sort of rudderless leadership that let McNamara and Lowes situations drag on far too long.

Guess we just have to hope that Toovey has been a bit more forthcoming with AC than AC has been with us on this. I just have a bit of a suspicion he may have been. for one thing I can't imagine we are really "looking for a no.2" without the head coach being in situ and fully involved with it. If it is to be another new coach, then that new coach will have to be involved and in agreement, so why would they waste time "checking out coaching staff" if Toovey isn't coming back?

Why would someone fly halfway round the world to say " Sorry I don`t want the job"!!!!!!!!!! Surely he could Skype it. More to the point is the club paying his fare.

I don't like the way this has been handled by Toovey, AC or the club. Hopefully like has been said AC and the club actually know more already but are limiting what they say/announce due to the fact that Toovey is actually employed as head coach up to Nov 1st (think I remember that correctly?)

But its hardly inspiring confidence at the moment. The sooner this gets sorted and announced the better, but it looks like we have another week of it at least. (so much for the 10 days for a decision that some people claimed about 3 weeks ago!)
