I'm suprised at the uproar that a bit of hair pulling has caused on these boards.

It's not like Crabtree will never play again after getting his locks tugged is it?

I reckon that any player who sports a long sticky out hairdo when taking to the rugby field runs the risk of having it pulled from time to time either by accident or on purpose.

Surley the onus should be on Crabtree to have his hair cut or tied up in a fashion more suitable for the activity he is taking part in.

Funnily enough I can`t remember anyone ever being banned (or even getting ten minutes for it) when Les had his hair pulled.

I agree, I don't think they did. But I remember people on here calling for it.

The RFL's inaction on those occasions clearly set a precedent. Not.

Don't get me wrong.

Even though I think he should get punished, it shows blatant inconsistency by the RFL if he does. As has been rightly said, people have got away with it in the past.

However those same inconsistencies seem to be being shown by quite a few of our fans too, who were up in arms when it happened to Les, but think it's nothing when Semi does it to an opposition player. I couldn't tell you any specific people as my memory certainly isn't good enough to remember who specifically was up in arms about it. However there's no doubt in my mind that quite a lot of people complained about it years ago when it was done to our player, and yet a majority also seem to be saying this is nothing. The majority seems to have changed it's opinion when the roles are reversed.

The kids at school would not be allowed to take part in PE or games without their hair properly secured. Same should apply here. What would happen if someone stood on his hair by accident or something? Its dangerous surely?

Agreed. If a steel erector turned up to work in high heels and then proceded to fall on his ar$e off a tall building whilst wearing said stilleto's the 'elf and safety" people would apportion at least some of the blame to him.

Bradford Bulls winger Semi Tadulala has been fined £400 after being found guilty of behaviour contrary to the true spirit of Rugby League by pulling the hair of Huddersfield Giants prop Eorl Crabtree in last Sunday’s engage Super League Round 24 fixture.



Tadulala pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared before the RFL Disciplinary Committee this evening but claimed the act in the 63rd minute was not intentional.



The offence was downgraded from Grade C to Grade B following representations from Bradford coach Steve McNamara but the Committee felt the hair pulling was serious and merited a fine.



Tadulala also received a formal warning which will remain on the player’s disciplinary record.
