Im a Wire fan but you've GOT to resign Menzies. I respect the bloke massively, the way the NRL final panned out last year was like something from a film and at 40 he'd probably be an asset to any team both on and off the field.
He's a credit to SL and certainly not 'an over the hill pensioner' as some planks made out before the season.

Good news for solo, but reading between the lines he doesn't expect to be here next year, which is the right call IMO, but if he can get back for a couple of games at the end of the season it would be very good for his career and us having another option available.

I'd also maybe put some money on Menzies being offered a new 1 year deal.

If he can get a few games in at the back end of the season, play well, look fit enough then I think we should look at offering a 1yr contract. There's no arguing with how creative he can be on the pitch -something we are lacking- but fitness is the issue.

Solomona is too injury prone and inconsistent. And then theres his size. At least Beaver has played most of the games this year so far.

I've said all season, and in preseason even, that Solo should not be retained next year, so keeping Menzies and letting Solo go would be fine by me.

It would make sense. I feel sorry for Solomona but it might be the best idea to call it a day when this contract's up.

Menzies on the other hand will probably still be playing for the Bulls when he's 40.

I feel sorry for him in that he has a serious injury, and its at a time when he needs to showcase himself to carry on his career elswhere. Which is why its excellent news that he might be back playing before the end of the season, and whilst he's a Bulls player I'll support him as much as I can and hope he makes a positive contribution for us.

But as for leaving us next year, I'm not too sorry, he's had plenty of time to prove he's worth a new contract and has failed to do so in my eyes, harsh maybe, but true.

The fact that he just looks like an unfit, overweight bloater does him no favours either TBH.

Paleaasina does also, wouldn't mind having him as an impact prop.

We all know this, tbh i'd even take a creative FB if we can't get a decent half-back. We seem to be lacking creativity in most games, apart from when Jeffries seems to occasionally get his ar$e into gear. Get Karmichael Hunt, just been watching Broncos game and the try he set up was absolutely immense.

I can't help thinking part of his injury problems are down to that.
