If we're coughing up so much possession and falling off tackles then I can only see the coaching staff as the ones to blame.
They are obviously not doing the right things in training otherwise these basic mistakes would not be happening.

Still, I was expecting a far worse scoreline than 30-18 today. Hopefully the two week break gives us a chance to get some bodies back.

Saints made many more mistakes than us. I honestly think if the Saints kickoff that looked for all the world to go out on the full, we would have gone on to get the draw.

2 D's lacking from Bradford today; discipline and defence. Both are correctable by the coaching staff.

Fair play to the team, they didn't throw in the towel. But they did seem to lack ideas going forward.

We've two weeks until the game against Widnes. Let's hope that the coaching staff and the players use this time to go over the errors in recent games and work on correcting them before then.

But do we have the Coaching Staff to correct these things? These are two areas that we've struggled with all Season.

Saints were dire. They dropped the ball a lot and sometimes just through the ball around because they don't know what to do with it. I'm amazed we actually lost to them.

Small squad, players injured, players carrying injuries, some players in poor form and low confidence levels are all issues for us right now. It's disappointing to be in this position after such a great start but we've definitely run out of steam now. I didn't see the performance today but I was expecting a bit of a hiding so it at least looks as though we were competitive to a point. When you consider the players we lost from last years play off team (before deductions) then I guess it shouldn't be a great shock.

Hopefully the 2 weeks break will allow some injuries to heal and some bodies given a rest and the Whitehead business dealt with. Because if we don't beat Widnes at home it really will be season over with Warrington, Wigan and Hull FC afterwards!

Summed up very well, although most of our tries were actually very good once we managed to hold on to the ball long enough to actually get to the line.

Had Saummut been playing I don't think we would have won as we just don't have the communication or defensive structure (or indeed any structure at all) to cope with a flair player.

Another very disappointing performance. Too much dropped ball early in the tackle count, too many missed tackles, too few ideas.
Saints were, luckily for us, as poor as I have ever seen them. They must have bombed, what, ten tries easily. Yet still we didn't ever look like getting near them.
We are definitely the go to team for getting others season's back on track.

Why are we afraid to get stuck in with the tackles? Why were we happy to sit back and let Saints have all the time in the world on the ball? Where is our in their faces defence?

Donaldson and Sidlow tackled everything that moved, shame we can't say the same for the others.

Lots of our players are carrying knocks that would keep them out if there was anyone fit to come in apparently.

Weeks break has come at perfect time for us TBH. Sammut, purtell and walker should all return for widnes match and manuokafou is a strong possibility too. Plus extra week gives players carrying knocks a chance to shake them off. Didn't think we were a lot of pace this week and defence sounded better. Suspect if sammut had been fit to play we'd have won.

So dire in fact that if we'd have had a little more composure we'd have been 30 points clear at half time. Thanks to tinkerman Brown we fell to bits somewhat in the second half but even then we had enough chances to put the game away but just kept blowing them.

We were not good but we were better than recent weeks and much better than the Bulls today. Got to say though the writing looked on the wall for you guys at times but the effort was outstanding , scrambling defence and never letting your heads go down.

No team that makes 21 handling errors in a match should come away with the two points. Unless they're playing the Bulls, it seems.

Incredible, our completion was 50% apparently. That's shocking. Shows how poor you were considering we still racked up 30 points.

Excuses, excuses. That they're unable to compete with much bigger, more expensive squads compiled over years in a financially stable environments is simply down to their innate human weakness.

That's no excuses for the basic mistakes that seem to be costing us each week now,you can't excuse so many errors,if we were bottom of the league you would still expect players to have a certain basic skill level( and no I'm not looking for an argument with you or anybody)

If we were totally outclassed that would be a different thing altogether,but look at saints completion and errors from yesterday

I don't disagree with any of that but I don't think they're excuses. Tiny squad + lack of size and quality = players playing with injuries as Bullseye said and lads who are far from world beaters anyway losing form, making errors and dropping off tackles. An excuse is something that's not really true, whereas I think these are genuine reasons why the best sides are way ahead of us over the course of a season.

I'm with M@islebugs on this one. The point is that for us to win matches against most of the other SL teams requires us to be perfoming at 90-100% of our ability every week, and to be as fit as we can be to do this.

The small, cheap squad is filled with players that other clubs would not or did not want. Only a small number of our suqad would be wanted by any clubs above us in the league. If we drop off at all in terms of performance levels, we get beat. The better teams with bigger squads and more money to pay better players, cna play relatively poorly and still beat us.

If we had an extra 500K to spend, would it be different? Of course it would. If you've ever played the game, you will accept that when you are playing against better quality players, or fitter players, you need to be 100%. when you are trying so hard, you make more mistakes as you are trying to play above your own level. Knock ons occur, fatigue sets in, defence gets ripped apart.

Basic mistakes is the thing I am on about,basic skills should be the least of the players problems

Basic skills suffer when you're fatigued/playing injured against a bigger/stronger opponent.

It's harder to tackle correctly when you're knackered or protecting an injury (see Foster versus Hudds).

It's harder to execute a perfect pass or catch when the defence is on top of you and that's happened a lot when we've been beaten up front due to a lack of props.
