I'm assuming that, as the ruling body, the RFL set up, and therefore approved of and would have had a veto over the members and terms of reference of the appeal team, rather than 'us', though nothing would ever really surprise me anymore. As I've said before, I hope we get a 'Leveson' and not a 'Hutton' figure but a Hutton type whitewash would be no surprise at all.

That sort of behaviour has gone on down the centuries. In the 17th and 18th centuries it was common for someone to appear in court charged with poaching a rabbit to feed his starving family - only to find the magistrate was the farmer from whose land he took said creature.

I'm sure that nothing even remotely like that would occur in these enlightened times though....

Interesting coincidence though. Whitcut made his allegations ( which RFL seem to be ignoring),and appeal postponed til end of month same day. Now this article coming out with whatever it contains and appeal put back another week. Almost like RFL want to give whatever claims are coming out time to die down before appeal.

I would have thought they would have got the appeal sorted as quickly as they could, so that any allegations made after the verdict would no longer add any value.
