| I did think it was a strange thing for FC to say. If he's struggling mentally, there might be a little more happening than meets the eye. He didn't play anywhere near his usual standard yesterday, I think FC would have been justified if he was to bring him off in the second half.

I thought he wasn’t fit but those comments from FC suggest something else is afoot. While I’d like to keep Sammut he’s infuriating at times. The past two weeks have been well below par for him.

| You only have to follow Sammut on Twitter to know he's off to Salford! Some very cryptic yet thinly veiled tweets, and his missus was mightily peed off at not getting paid on time and took to Twitter to let everyone know.
In fact all you have to do is follow all the wives including FC's to know exactly what's going on at Odsal

| To be fair he put in a great tackle on Duport when he was racing away down their left side, and a tackle on Webb on the last tackle.
He didn't look fit to me but perhaps his mind is elsewhere.

| His mrs doesn't seem too chuffed that people have dared to criticise him on Twitter.
I haven't seen anyone calling him disloyal or suggesting he's crap. Just people pointing out that he had a bad game and you can see why he was left out of the starting line up. She then kicked off about it. Seems it's all fine when people are praising how amazing he is, but if anyone dares to criticise, they're out of order.

| I cannot fathom why anybody engages with twitter.
There was a programme on the telly last night about a former member of Atomic Kitten being cyberstalked on twitter. Whilst the person doing it clearly needs sectioning, surely the simple answer is to switch the stupid thing off.
Slightly OT I know, but I think we're fast approaching the peak of twitter (I hope).

Was she stalked only on twitter? Seems like she doesn't know how to use it properly then. It's quite easy to block individuals from following you, and you can change a security setting so that your permission is needed before anyone can follow your feed.
You also can't send direct messages to someone unless they follow your account.
Twitter isn't going anywhere anytime soon I don't think. Used properly it is a brilliant marketing tool, and there will always be enough people interested in every facet of a celeb's lifestyle to ensure that it remains popular.
Besides, almost every transfer rumour comes from Twitter these days - what would we do without it?

| Jarrod is conspicuous by his absence on twitter. I am becoming more convinced that he is on his way elsewhere, reported in todays express that Noble is chasing his signing.

Well he's under contract. He's one of the top 10 best players in SL according to the stats and Noble is backed by an owner who wants to make a big splash. £1 million, minimum bid

| We don't have a lot of depth at half-back and if Sammut goes who will be Gale's half-back partner next year? Addy? Gaskell?

| What about Brett Kearney for the stand-off role? As he is getting older he is losing speed and misses far too many tackles at full back. He played at stand-off a lot when he was at Cronulla and I think he would play well there. And let's not forget, we originally signed him to play at 6.

| Foster of Kear to FB in that case, would rather see Kear but then we need a winger to replace him.

It looks like Salford are ready to splash the cash with a £650k offer for Sonny Bill Williams:
www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... ny-5712810
It also mentions Noble is keen on Sammut at the bottom of the article. I have to be honest, if Sammut goes, I can see us getting silly money for him.

I would put Kearney back at 6, he drops too many balls and misses too many tackles for FB IMHO Unfortunately Cummins would put Foster at full back rather than Kear. I don't know whether it's me, but i would rather my FB can catch a high ball and tackle rather than this "chime into the line" coaches seem obsessed with.
Kear would make every good FB IMO and i would like Kearney at 6

Likewise gale seems to be at his best when partnered with addy. For some reason sammut and gale just don't seem to click together.

That's crazy, does he think he will come over and give 2 stuffs, he will be here for a year get paid loads nd go home could see that biting salford in the backside they may buy a lot of players but they will be mercenaries there for a quick buck.
Why would SBW play for them I dare say he has never heard of salford before, he won't do a job for them they will have to be extremely careful, I could see them fighting relegation next year, if they sign journey men who arnt there for the pride in the shirt.

That a wish list or based on something more concrete? I guess there is the rumours of Gaskell to come into the squad in 2014. Competition for places or a straight replacement for Jarrod.
I still think BK is better at FB, he can slot into stand off without problem but I still think he is more dangerous from FB.

| There's as much chance of SBW signing for Salford as there is of Eric Pickles replacing Sammutt.
Mind you, maybe as an impact prop ...

Not what i meant just meant to say, hope they don't sign a lot of players who are there to make a quick buck, what happens when those star players leave after their 1 season at the Reds, i just hope they have plans in place for future development as i wouldn't like to see them paying for it in future years.
