| Hmm okay I may have been wrong on a few things and I apologize but the majority of what I said I stand by. I meant taking the p*ss building the new stadium.
I don't understand how people think that just because the RFL own the lease for Odsal, means that we will still be in SL. The RFL could easily sell the lease to the council for a bit of money and the coucil could use Odsal as a landfill site

Fair enough, but we're really not extracting the urine about the stadium at all. In fact, the work that has been put in to jump through all the planning legislation hoops has been outstanding. It's a near impossible task to build a new stadium in these economic climes. It was not the club's fault that it was called in for PI. That hurdle is now passed and the next few are now in hand.
Bradford's position will have no influence on Wakefield's licence. If the stadium is being built at the time of the next period, we will get one, if not, we won't. Simples. The current stadium was grade C, when assessed, but has now been improved and, with the added cover, is now grade B.
I doubt Mr. Glover would vote against Bradford as I believe he sees the bigger picture, beyond petty rivalries and politics. He, and the club, will stand or fall on their own achievements.
Who knows what the future holds for the bulls? Recent developments are looking more positive, so best of luck. (Although I don't think you did us any favours beating the pies last week. It's gonna be tough on Sunday.)
As regards Halifax's... grade C???
[urlhttp://therfl.co.uk/licensing/super_league[/url
Quote Halifax RLFC
Halifax RLFC submitted an application with insufficient detail in their marketing, media or commercial plans. The club business plan was inadequate, figures presented by the club as the budget and performance forecasts for the 2012-14 Licence period were speculative and the club did not provide sufficient information for KPMG to complete their assessment procedures. Whilst the club has an excellent community program, a good facility and has recently strengthened its Board and player performance system, the club fell below the standards expected of a Super League club.'"

[iWhat's best for Fax is to stay down and keep making profit [/iand playing good rugby and competing for trophies, they don't deserve to be a 3rd rate Super League team being beat week in week out.'"
If that's best for Halifax why wouldn't it be the best for Bulls, too? Bit hypocritical, I'd say. I don't want to lose the Bulls from SL but if they do go into liquidation I can't see any other outcome.

There is no p twke surrounding their efforts to build a new stadiun.
In fact, I would suggest that, far from taking the p, they have done absolutely everything they can to ensure that they will have a new stadium.
The delays which have occured since the franchises were handed out, were solely due the public inquiry being refered to the SoS, which isnt really the fault of the club, is it ?
Just because your club is in strife, this doesn't give you the right to spout nonsense about another SL club.
Wakefield have done everything asked of them by the RFL and i'm sure that we will continue to do so.

| If the five clubs mentioned above are the ones that will vote against us being admitted to Superleague, they need to be very careful what they wish for!
SL will be loathe to run with an odd number, and have each round carry a bye. By their own reckoning, as of 12 months ago, there are no clubs ready to come up from the championship. So what do they do? They lose another club. Mcgoldrick's revelations in the paper today, Salford's supposed money problems, Londons questionable viability, all point to the RFL perhaps not steppping in so strongly as they have in assisting us should any one od them struggle ina similar way.
I cant see this vote goign against us, and even if it does, the RFL will veto it. Losing a club like salford or castleford, would be imo just as sad as losing Bradford, but to the game's reputation in the wider sporting world, losing them would be much better than losing a club that's won the competition 4 times in the last 15 years!

Almost certainly not.
Equally, when some of those who now have or are getting new stadia criticise the Bulls for not being in such a fortunate position, they might do well to recall that the reason we ended up not having a new stadium was because the proposals were called in by the then-SoS. Which wasn't really the fault of OUR club either, was it?

Going forward, the extent to which we can depend on the goodwill of the other clubs could depend pretty heavily on how those who eventually end up in control of the club choose to engage with their peers?

| cant see a problem with the other clubs even if they got a majority vote against bradford, the RFL would veto it as they have already made their bed by splashing out a fortune for the lease on Odsal. It would look really bad on them if they ended up with no club playing there and paying the market value rent. Bradford in some form or another will be in super league.

| Sorry to burst you're bubble but I think you'll find almost all clubs have posted losses this year we're in recession for gods sake. But I think the Rfl have to tread very carefully as they are the ones who gave a license to a club they new full well were in financial trouble as they did with Crusaders.

Probably - but while we have our own immediate crisis at the Bulls to get through - there remains "something rotten in the state of SL" to paraphrase the Bard. I am not saying it is not equally true of other sports but small minded parochialism is a long standing blight on our game.

I would think when all these clubs consider wether Bradford keeps their place in Super League or not ,the last thing thing they will be thinking about is " petty rivalries and politics".As everyone has said most clubs are posting losses and so I would think their first consideration will be weighing up wether an extra £100,000 a year would benifit them more than a visit by Bradford fans.
To London the answer would be "give me the money" to Leeds I would think they would vote to keep them as it`s their "derby" although they are on record as wanting a smaller league ,the other clubs who knows but we can all guess. I would say quite a few would vote for the extra share of the Sky money especially as they have been asking for a smaller league for some time. The next round of liscensing would probably bring in the dropping of another team if not 3 to make what they all believe to be the optimum number of a 10 league team.
What amazes me is looking from a distance at the sorry saga that has been developing over the years at the Bulls and the state your club is in, you still find the time to look down and have a dig (complete with smilies ) at a club in the championship.
It beggers belief.

| The criticism of Wakefield is out of order. The way the new regime there has turned round Trinity is to be admired. If we survive in Superleague, by whatever means, I just hope we have an owner/owners with the calibre of Glover. Any new owners would benefit if they took advice from him and O'Connor at Widnes who have faced similar situations.
Adeybull wrote:Going forward, the extent to which we can depend on the goodwill of the other clubs could depend pretty heavily on how those who eventually end up in control of the club choose to engage with their peers?
I agree with that but would add that it also (possibly) depends on how they CHOSE to engage. That's one of the many reasons why I would prefer any new leadership to have no ties to the past.

Never said it was Adey, this was a reply to Bull Boy's comment about our own lack of progress with a new stadia, where he inferred that we wern't doing anything, which is the total opposite of the current position.
I know your current state must be hurting, but this is no reason to lash out at others.
There do now sound to be some positive noises coming out from the RFL for your own situation and wish you well for a good outcome.
The players, supporters and staff have done the club proud over the last few weeks and this can only be a good thing moving forward.

You failed to mention that though.
You just said they were taking the whizz with regard to their stadium.
That is an unbelievable amount of irony when you consider the 'Deal' you struck with the RFL over the lease of Odsal.
You know the deal that means you don't have a lease on your own ground anymore which now means Odsal cannot be leased elsewhere from under your feet now you are in admin.

I too would be surprised as I think Wakefield would want Bradford in, on the other hand however ; knowing that the top Super League clubs are after a smaller league and that might happen at the next licsening ,Hand on heart would you prefer to eliminate one place now? Or keep them. in let them rebuild and find you are the one that loses your place next time. All the clubs in the lower half of the league will have to weigh this up , the Leeds , Wire , Saints will not have this on their mind when they come to vote.A £100,000 extra share of sky money and possibly more to follow if it drops to 10 I would expect nothing less than that Andrew Glover does what is best for Wakefield whatever that may be.

1. What financial problems at Cas? Stop making stuff up.
2. Cas are further than Wakefield in regards to a stadium (Cas have full planning permission, Wakefield don't)
As for the RFL being able to veto the clubs vote, not really surprising - make it look like a democracy but really it's a dictatorship, if it was Cas or Wakey the RFL would love to give them the boot if they formed a newco.

That not only sounds very fishy (even for the RFL) it would end up with serious ramifications.
