| For the most part we were good Wildie was good speed out of dummy half good at passing good foot work. Webster with looked knackered or injured at half time, saw him limping up and down line so injured I think. Very decent quality game tbf

| It sounded good on mixlr, forwards gave the backs a good platform. defence sounded really good, Fax got the bounce of the ball on at least one of their tries. Ross Peltier gave Lilley MoM just ahead of Ollie Wilson. very encouraging, hope Websters ok as he sounded to have put in some good hits. sounded like a fast and intense game by the lads, likewise fax their yellow cards took their toll.

| Decent game. Thought Webster put a lot of effort in but looked knackered by half time. All the props impressed, particularly Bustin and the trialist O'Sullivan looked ok. Ricket was solid on the wing and George got up their noses plus 2 trys. Got to get the lights sorted, it was embarrassing in 2nd half. Come on Bulls it can't cost that much for some new bulbs.

| Was pleased to come away with a win. Fax are definitely a step up in class, even with a weakened team.we played some good solid rugby, nothing spectacular but enough the get the win.
I thought the young ones did ok. Wilsons first stint in think was maybe a bit overwhelming. Looked to be trying too hard to impress and made some basic mistakes but much better when he came back on.
Webster was ok but I thought he looked a bit sluggish from the start. Was a bit of a pain in the refs ear and could easily have got binned for running back to confront a late hit on Lilley. Thought Oates looked the better yesterday tbh.
Trae O'Sullivan was out of his depth. Very flat footed he missed a load of tackles and whilst he runs hard and the effort is there I just don't see him getting even close to the Match day squad.
For me Bustin looked good. Very strong in both attack and defence.

| Were Fax that much understrength though?. looks like apart from both halves only grix and grady were missing from their strongest lineup. We had a comparable if not larger number of regular starters missing in chisholm, crossley, peltier, hitchcox, gibson and hallas. Thought they'd dominate us much more down the middle with crossley and peltier out but was pleasantly surprised how ell we matched up after a shak first 10 minutes where they threw kitchen sink at us.

I think starting line up wise they were quite strong but the bench was much weaker which I think made a big difference.
I'm not saying they were hugely down on numbers but I expect to see a stronger line up when we face them on Good Friday.

| Missing senior players
No recognized halfs. Brooks Is a mid table championship one halfback at best and woodburn hall is a . Grix will play all season unless injured, Muzza and jonnno all season. Whites registration had not come through. Had we had some half backs playing we would of gone ahead in the first 20 when we was all over you
Remove lilly and keyes from Bradford and you would of not got the result.

Both halves were missing for them which will be a killer. Probably both about same number of players out missing. Doesn't really matter anyway, its a pre-season friendly and result doesn't really mean much. Sounds like we're attacking better than last year.
What I will say is that our young kids seem to be doing really really well. Stephenson sounded like he had a good game and Storton again seemed to be getting hugely praised by a few in the media.

Not entirely sure about that (Keyes and Lilley). Ryan, Bustin, Flanagan, Wildie and Green all had good games too.
Like a previous poster said, we have some big game players to come back ourselves but I'm not getting too excited yet as I think it will be a lot closer when we play you at The Shay.
Early days yet for both sides

Fax will be a different side with Murrell in there, no mistake.
The most exciting thing about this team is the number of young players that seem to be coming through together and if we can keep them they have years ahead to play together.

We were missing senior players too, and we did have Keyes and Lilley so that doesn't wash. Don;t know why you are getting defensive it is a pre season game and will have no reflection on the games during the year

| In defence of Fax they seemed to make more changes than us which never helps. The first 10-15mins we had to defend very well. I imagine theyād be slicker with their regular halfbacks. Then again weād be stronger too.
There were a few standout performers for us. I liked the look of Wildie whoās a very neat player at dummy half. The passes were quick and accurate ā something we struggled with a bit last year. Ryanās try was another super effort in the corner. Flanagan looked really sharp when he came on and Bustin was the pick of the forwards. I was pleased with how fit we looked.
Kearās going to have some real selection headaches.

| I thought we played well. It was a competitive game between two decent sides who were giving no quarter. For us, I thought the young lads in the forwards showed up especially well and easily gave as good as they got. Result is largely irrelevant for a pre-season game, but the way we played should give us good heart for the much more important games to come.

If you are struggling in pre season due the the lack of depth in your squad then i think its going to be a long season a head and you might be looking at mid table rather then the top 5.
If we didnt have Lilley and Keyes it would have been Chisholm and Milnes. You know them, the 2 halves that guided us around the field and led us to a resounding victory against York.

I hope nobody looks at that team and still thinks the Yorkshire Cup is a credible competition!
'"
Credible or not, I believe the attendance was 3500 yesterday and 1500 at Dewsbury. I'd like to wager a bet that will beat the attendance of at lease 5 SL games (#NewBeginnings) and that's even excluding London home games.
They've used it as way to raise more funds for themselves with SL set to take the. Championship money when they inevitably fail at negotiating an improved TV contract.

I don't disagree that marketing it as such seems to have been a success. At the end of the day, the friendly games are rarely a big attraction to anyone other than those desperate for the season to begin again, so anything clubs can do to improve attendances is a good idea. Bigging this up as a competition, regardless of how credible anyone sees it, seems to have done the trick and boosted the footfall and therefore the bank accounts. Perhaps the RFL who are currently being mega criticised for not bigging up their competitions enough, could take note.
