If they considered it for every home game this season, I would think it's then going to cost them some money in refunding those season ticket holders who've paid for the Prov. Stand with the £50 difference that the terracing folk haven't paid.
Might have been a good idea before the season, but surely not practical now?

Also for games versus HKR and Fax we'd need the rest of the ground.
Then there's the possibility of cup games versus SL opposition that would bring a few. Obvs not needed for Hudders though

| Yesterday I couldn't even get to my seat. As a one-off "needs must" I'll stand for it, but I don't see why I should be sold a £249 ticket if the cheapest ground pass can sit in my chair.

Precisely. And even though there will be the odd fan that will have a season ticket for the stand who will say "It's ok, if it saves a few quid for the club I don't mind", there will in fact be 99% of those who bought them feeling a bit ripped off, even if they don't want to make an issue out of it (which of course some will).
I've gone in the stand this year, but that's largely because my knees are feeling my age a bit and I prefer to be sat now. I understand the health & safety reasons for doing it yesterday, but if it happened regularly, I'd be asking questions in the ticket office.

| I didn't like sharing the stand to be fair! Those fearful oiks from the other side made it far too noisy
And would you believe, AND, the 'Come on You Bulls' reached three repetitions before fizzling out! Disgraceful...

I must have been sat at the opposite end then, as I barely heard any noise other than people abusing the referee and trying to help point out how often Rochdale were offside.
Either that or my eardrums had frozen. Which is fairly likely.

Were you at the side closest to the Coral stand then? I was and all I could bloody here was this women screaming every two seconds to the point where her fella told her she should shut up and was embarrassing
It won't become a regular thing sharing the stand. Although at the start of the season it should have been said that with teams like Toulouse etc who won't bring fans then the stand will only open. That way it saves costs, keeps everyone in one place and would create an atmosphere. That would obviously be reflected in the prices paid for season tickets. Im sure that everyone would be happy with this.
However I for one. Like many others prefer to stand anyway at rugby games. So shutting off the standing area completely would be a nightmare!

| I liked the fact everyone was in together. It was noisy and helped to build a bit of atmosphere. I understand it would be a bit of a p!$$er for those who have paid to sit, but as a concept, when expecting crowds of 4000 (i.e., most of them) why not?
I don't like to sit usually either, but it was ok. I even made friends with the guy next to me.

Haven't posted on here for years at this stage but this compelled me. She stands behind us usually. It's normally about midway through the first half you realise she's there. Shortly after that you wish she wasn't. It's like nails on a chalkboard.

I think she may have been a redhead? Bloody nightmare. I knew she was there from the off She either has severe mental issues which means she cannot function the whole brain/mouth thing which would be a reasonable explanation. Or she's one of these that think Bradford are perfect and are entitled to win and anything that goes against us is obviously the refs fault!
Glad my post got you back on here! You are most welcome to stay haha!

Evenin' Bulls fans.
Haven't dropped in for a while.
I have to agree 4,000 in the Championship are good numbers, even for a successful Championship Club, which makes your showing remarkable all things considered.
Hull KR's stratospheric ST sales & attendance for Championship RL is a completely different animal. Much easier to get their fans to buy into the dream of a fast return than the Bulls fans predicament, though KR fans also have to be applauded for buying in in huge numbers.
It is heartening that despite the ferocious onslaught of sins brought against your lot that you can summon the will & spirit to fight again.
My advice to those who are riled by the ill tempered trolls who visit you for blood sports is to reply with a cheery quip, turn the other cheek & pity the sorry 8@$T@RD$ for they know not what they do.
Onwards & upwards.

Why not? Because you'd instantly annoy a large section of your fanbase who will have essentially paid more for exactly the same seat as those who have paid less.
Not something the club can afford to do when they're already having to do whatever they can to keep fans turning up.
It's easy to say it's a good idea if you're one of them who's getting the benefit for cheaper, but not quite so easy if you feel a bit ripped off by it. As I say, one game isn't a big deal. If it became regular, I would be asking for some money back and I expect most others in the stand would be too, as we'd have been ripped off.
It's a great idea at the start of the season before anyone's paid the extra. You can give them the option and point out you're only paying the extra for about 4 games in the year when the terracing will be open. People then choose to pay it or not. You can't just do it after people have already paid for the "upgrade" for the whole season though.

I seem to remember that we did actually - probably 3-4 years ago, I had name on my seat. Or did I just dream that up?

I did mention that on my post....so you didn't dream it. Mine actually stayed on for a couple of seasons, though quite a few did fall off. I got the impression they went round and pulled them off after a while.

No it wouldn't.
The centre section was full, so if i had wanted "my seat" I'd first have to make my way along the row to reaach it, and then tell one of the lads sat there that number 80 is mine. He would not be happy, the game having kicked off, and if he and his mates moved now, they had nowhere in the vicinity to go where they could all sit together.
If the seats were marked "reserved" it would make no difference as basically the stand had filled up from the centre and nobody was bothered. I can't imagine a steward wanting to get involved, but worse would be the stick I would rightfully get for disrupting the view in the vicinity whilst it all kicked off.
The only solution is to restrict free upgrades to certain sections of the stand, eg the end bits or at the bottom. But that would be equally unfair against the stand passholders in those areas who paid more, and would have left large chunks of the expensive middle bit unoccupied as is the norm.
I don't want to see it unoccupied, but selling stand seats isn't my job, and I don't see why I should pay treble what the guy next to me does.

| Yes it would. The vast majority of rugby fans would respect a reserved sticker and they would have no excuse when told to move.

| On the subject of 'Attendances' those for the first round of SL fixtures were abysmal, just one over 10K. I worry that in future there may not even be a Super League to get into. The game will die on its feet if we can't do better, considering this was the opening round of fixtures a very poor effort.

Personally, I couldn't care less about "reserved" stickers. I paid £50 extra on my season ticket for a seat and roof rather than standing. If someone gets a seat and a roof without paying that extra, I'm feeling ripped off, regardless of which seat they're in.

2nd best in Championship (behind Rovers' attendance against us the previous week, which was more than double ours).
1,000 less than the worst SL attendance so far (Widnes vs. Hudds).

If they announced that was the regular policy from now on, then yeah, I'd agree 100%. For a 'one off', weather incident, I'm happy enough though.
I think one of the problems has been caused by not differentiating on seat prices; for years, black were the most expensive followed by red and then amber but, as I understand it, this year they seem to have just called everything 'a seat in the stand', and made it the same price. Most of the reserved seats were, as you might expect, in the black middle section or near the edge of the red, so they could, and maybe should, have directed non seat holders to the yellow section. If they'd used stickers they could have told non-stand ticket holders to not sit in a reserved seat, with effective stewarding, job done.
Hindsight is a wonderful tool though and as the owners haven't been around that long I'll forgive the oversight.

Yes, to be fair, I did mean that. One off for health & safety reasons, I'm ok with. If they start doing it every time it rains a bit though, I'll be questioning it.

| I arrived to find people in our ST seats but politely asked them to move on. I think people realised they had a chance of picking a taken seat so there was no hassle or anything but every home game would be a bit tedious.
