You obviously don't know Derek , he is a very generous man who always supports and donates to all charities ,and is very approachable by all fans.He is just a fan who wears his heart on his sleeve and is in a position to say what he sees.

When he approached us Bulls fans on the first day of the season he certainly didn't mince his words. Even the radio presenters who picked up his foul mouthed rant had to apologise as it went out on air.

As Chairman you represent your club and, to some extent, the sport of rugby league; you are an official - and as such are expected to keep your remarks within certain acceptable parameters. If he feels unable to do that, he maybe ought to resign and simply be a fan - after all, unlike club officials, and whether we have pocket-loads of cash or not, we fans have carte blanche to be as barmy as we want...........well, within a slightly wider set of parameters..

Let me inform you first, Derek is NOT the Chairman of Leigh Centurions, it is Mike Norris who has this position,and im sure Mike conducts himself in the ways you describe in your above post.Derek apparently is the Owner who as I have said before is a decent bloke who maybe sometimes makes some remarks he shouldn't, never less his intentions for a successful Leigh Centurions are there for all to see.Personally I hope you Bulls fa s make the trip to the LSV in numbers and the game itself is a Classic,those that are coming will be made most welcome , I'm sure of that.

Incorrect Derek was banned from Odsal twice, on the first occasion Paul went on his own and watched your Fev game on the other occasion the directors sent back their free entitlement.

Did you hear the story of the butcher in Todmorden? He had a customer who asked for a sheeps head but she insisted it had to be a Lancashire sheep. Actually, he wasn't banned from attending the Fev game. He wanted a free ticket for the hospitality suite and Bradford said no.

There was nothing stopping him paying to go other than his pigheadedness

I mean, if a Yorkshire person says "I think this guy is writing utter bullcrap" and I say "I agree", how do you know whether I am from that category of "some" Yorkshire folk who are "like sheep", and am therefore just following this person's thoughts or opinions, or from the "other" category, and have formed that thought or opinion all for myself and am simply expressing my independent views?

I think it's very loyal that most of you defend your owners antics but please don't expect fans of other teams to do the same. The reason Beaumont was told he wasn't welcome at Odsal was due to his foul mouthed tirade at members of the Bulls board at LSV. I'm sure Green has no intensions of letting it happen again.

I've gone with what the Leigh fans are saying. I was being open minded but I forgot that all us yorkshire folk think the same. Therefore I've changed my mind. It's the free ticket one.

Honestly,I don't care. The only reason this issue keeps coming up is because some big time Charlie can't keep his mouth shut and has to blab everything all over the press.

You can't be succesful running a rugby league club if you want to everyone's friend. Beaumont sounds like a man (very much like Green) who won't let anyone push the club around. He backs his opinions with money and the game is better with a strong Leigh club challenging for tthe top division. I'm sure his behaviour is unacceptable at times but give me that any day to a double talker who everyone says is a really nice guy.

Also the twitter spat with the Batley forward was excellent stuff.

While that might be the way Beaumont see himself, but his behaviour is not acceptable. His abuse rants on social media are not good for either Leigh or the game as a whole. What's worse is the idiotic and unapologetic way he handles it when he's chastised for these little outbursts.

His money is good for Leigh, but the man himself isn't.

There is no distinguishing between the money, the crazy outbursts, the passion, the brass b**ls plus a fair bit of smarts which has brought the Leigh club back to life. Of course he's been good for Leigh and few SL fans would swap him for their owner in a minute.
