As I said on another thread he will be relatively low cost and I reckon he can only get better. If he doesn't make the grade then we won't have lost much, if he does we might have a bargain. I see this as a positive piece of business.'"
Spot on, good bit of business if true.

| My sources tell me Ainscough, Walker & Elima are all done deals.
And also that the club ARE looking at former Bradford players to bring back in 2011. (Fielden is probably the most realistic, but Pryce, Bridge, Atkins & Peacock would be nice)

All but Fielden are contracted, most (I think) for longer than a year. And on Hull's board they're pretty confident that they have signed Fielden.

I know, all the others weren't deadly serious.
If we were interested, i'd like to think Fielden would rather come back home than go to Hull. (Although if Hull have outbid us like they did with Will Sharp then he'd be stupid to turn them down)

| In non-rugby related issues, it appears from his twitter that young Mr. Ainscough has just become a dad.

| I hope you sign him, give him a real chance and he turns round and scores a shedload of tries. I was in the UK last year and the first live game I've seen in England for a long time was vs Wigan. The lad is a very strong runner out of defence and a real handful and certainly the most exciting young player I saw.
I think his defensive weaknesses have been a bit exaggerated. Even if not, if you have a coach willing to help him work on fielding kicks etc and a team which works to help him as well (rather than leave him completely isolated) then I'd like to think he can really kick on. He's quite short and will therefore lose the odd battle for kicks against bigger guys. The issue is making sure that he competes for the ball and that if he does let one get by he doesn't fall to pieces as a result.
The comparison I'd make is Matt Utai. He was a great attacking player but small and targeted by the high ball. Sometimes this would work and he'd let in a couple of tries. Other times he'd do OK.
If you have Walker as well he's a big enough unit to at least run interference for Ainscough when kicks go up as Senior does for Leeds.
Anyway, I'm fed up of people and clubs writing off players with real talent far too early. In this case a winger who can score tries and trouble the defence.

He looks great going forward, I think he'll score a few tries for us. We just need to give him plenty of protection for the high kicks that'll come his way.

| When we first signed Gardner, his defense was shocking but he worked on it and became defensively sound. Johnny Lomax and Jamie Foster, who are no giants by any stretch of the imigination have showed to be safe under high balls when under pressure.
Ainscough for me, is well worth a punt. I think it could be a shrewd acquisition

Please don't compare him to Lesley! Cause then my expectations will be far too high. Plus he's a totally different type of winger.

Not true. Shaun was sat next to my Dad for part of the evening and when asked if he had signed for Bradford next season, he said yes.

Go on then Mr fifth columnist...which deals have we "missed out on...again"? please list them.
Please also provide in each case your proof that we "missed out" rather than, for example, declined to get into an auction for paying a player more than he was worth.

Of course it matters and only someone incredibly naive thinks it doesn't.
Extreme example:
If you were offered a tenner to go out and play a game for the Bulls, or £1,000,000 (that's a million for the dense folk reading this) to go and play a game for West Bowling, which would you choose?
(Hint, if you say Bulls, I'm going to call you a liar)
