| The board have made their bed so to speak in terms of allowing Macca to make some wholesale changes pre season.
They won't get rid this early on - as many point out, he's out of contract at the end of the year, we've lost the first two games - CALM DOWN - Leeds have lost 2/3 and they're not all shouting for McClennan to go!
Will he (Macca) be sacked this year - if we continue with this form, yes he will, but we'll have to put up with it for 10 games or so unless there is some sort of mass boycott from the season ticket holders if we continue losing spectacularly

| He won't be sacked this year. He will see out his contract. The best we can hope for is for someone to come in and help him.

Yup.
It's make or break for him this season. If we don't make the play offs again, I don't think his contract should / will be renewed.

| If we carry on as we are doing we can forget about the play offs.
There look to be plenty of potential candidates out there.

| FWIW on balance I think if we went for John Sharp I'd start watching Cas instead.

| Quote ="Shaggoth"So the collated list thus far is:
Steve Foulkes - Isn't he involved in some other sport now?
Graham Murray - Hates the Bulls apparently - shame.
Paul Cullen - No better than who we have.
John Sharp - No better than who we have.
Me - Do you come cheap?
Ian Millward - A wildcard choice, would he do a Wigan on us though?
Chris Anderson - Nearly coached us in 1989, isn't he retired?
Stuart Raper - Got Wigan to a final and improved Cas. Not a bad choice.
Ellery Hanley - Doesn't suffer fools, might be costly. Bit of a loose cannon.
Jason Taylor - Souths debacle doesn't bode well.
Helen Keller - See no evil!
Shaun McRae - Worse than McNamara!
Graham "I hate Bradford" Murray - again?
Brain Noble - No chance.
Wayne Bennett - More chance of Lenny Bennett
Michael Hagan - If only! Would have him in heartbeat.
Royce Simmons (is currently an assistant IIRC) - Possibly.
Ricky Stuart - Seems to only do ok with top players
'"
Out of those I'd certainly consider applications from Hagan, Raper, Simmons, Hanley and Millward. The first two being my favoured choices! All academic tho!

Graham Murray twice?
I know he hates us, but having two of him wouldn't make him any better.
Raper
Hagan
Bennett
Stuart
Simmons
Any of them and I would be delighted.
I'd take Hanley, Foulkes or Millward.

At the moment, I would settle for that just to get some new idea's into the place!
I wonder if Quins would consider a coach swap................?

A lot of Quins fans are as disillusioned with their Macca as we are with ours!
I think we need an experienced bloke. While we probably would never attract someone like Hagan or Stuart you never know. However if we got Raper I'd be happy as he's a proven record at a club with limited resources (Cas) and has won a trophy with a top club (Wigan).

And then did what with the Sharks.........?
Compare that sharks team with our team now. Everything trying to come off one key player in Orford (us) and Kimmorley (Sharkies)........

| The only likely option that will be available will be to bring in a decent assistant. Quite where we'll find someone suitable I don't know, but IMO it needs to be someone that can turn the team from defending like a set of wet lettuce leaves to having a bit of tenacity. Clearly we can actually defend reasonably well as we showed in very brief stints against Saints, but the sloppy softly softly tackling that we saw for most of the game needs coaching out.

Perhaps but I do think he's more experience than McNamara and has a proven record even taking into account his departure from Wigan and Cronulla.
McNamara's not proven anything as a head coach. He may be an excellent assistant and great at building up the youth system but as head coach his record speaks for itself.

He was the one I was going to mention. I've played under him at amateur level and he's a very astute coach. Is he ready to take on the job of main man yet and would the Bulls be prepared to take a chance on another unproven coach after the failings of McBanana?

| I'd be happy if we appointed a Foulkes, Raper, Stuart type coach and kept McNamara as a No2, if he dont like it he can go.
