Actually, no I don't. I think you'll find that only the tiniest and weeniest minority of Saints fans believe Saints will beat you by any score at all on Sunday. These are the deluded/optimistic among us. I think they number three on these boards and perhaps two on RedVee. On the terraces I didn't hear one person say they thought we would beat you on Sunday.
Not only do we have a dysfunctional team and a dubious coach but we also have a misfiring halfback 'partnership'.
The only way I can see us winning on Sunday is if your halfbacks have yet to gel. Or if you have a man sent off. Or if your defence totally falls apart and your men stand there with a big gap between them so that Saints players can actually figure that they're supposed to run through that gap and score a try. Bless 'em. They can't do it without help these days.

There is usually a big hole where Worrincy should be in the defensive line

Eastmond has the potential to be whatever he wants to be. The world is his oyster. Obviously, potential has to be realised, and it's not being churlish to point out that sometimes it isn't, but the raw talent is awesome. I've never been one for putting kids in a bag marked number seven or number eight and it may well be that he actually realises his full potential elsewhere on the field.

Except height! I think he would be squished.
He's definitely got bags of talent but the jury's out as to whether he can lead the guys around the park. That's what we'll find out this season. Until we know, it would be helpful (to Saints, obviously!) if someone else would take on leadership duties so as not to overwhelm the lad and he can take them back bit by bit as his experience and confidence develops.

Is that out wide? If so I wouldn't worry about it, Saints don't attack there any more.
I have been quite supportive of Potter. I even voted FOR him in the redvee.net vote that ended up being quoted in the Sun (spit).
But if we can't beat your boys on Sunday I may be joining the angry mob.
As for Pryce I think Badger hit the nail on the head. Saints need a kevin Sinfield type 13 to back up the halves. Orford and Pryce would be a well balanced combo.

Jason Robinson's experience there suggests otherwise. And he's a player many have likened to Eastmond as well.

Billy Slater's no giant is he?
On Robinson I only remember him struggling with the bomb at fullback in RL, he had no problems with defence or attack. He even mastered the taking of the bomb in union so I reckon if he'd been given time he'd have managed to become a good RL fullback. Fact was that he was always going to just be backup there as Wigan had Radlinski.

The only likeness Eastmond has to Robbo is he is black and small.

And fast. Don't forget fast.
My concern with Kyle as full back is simply his size and whether he would be able to cope with the big blokes and their momentum in try-saving moments. No doubt from an attacking POV he would be first class but defensively I'd be a bit nervous.
The trouble is that when a team finds themselves a gifted halfback it's difficult to know where they would go best as they can play in so many different positions. It's a pity for us that cloning isn't available. We couldn't half do with a full backline of Eastmonds.
Meanwhile ... you're welcome to Leeeeon. His time with us is done unless Potter has some kind of brainwave and sticks him somewhere he will actually be useful.

He looked bigger than Eastmond, though, when I took a peek at Elland Road last year (and I was very committed in my peek taking, I have to say, especially where Darren Lockyer was concerned ... )

| Anyone remember Eastmond at odsal last season, from what i recall i remember him going into a tackle with fore arms trying to smash Ben Jeffries head off. He must have been taking some advice from Leon.

Kyle has taken a while to get his tackling technique sorted. He had a serious shoulder injury a season ago and he's been working on how best to tackle. He usually goes for a wrestle style now, low down and limpit like, which seems to be quite effective. I've never seen him do a high tackle yet. He's not high enough to do one I shouldn't think.
