If it was nowhere near the truth a flat no would be easy. As it is, reading between the lines I'd say at least there has been/is discussion about this move going on.

Nice signing in the context of an overall plan for half-back. But in isolation he's knocking on.

Orford's a good player and would improve the side but I'm dubious over whether this is just a way of him getting a better deal with Manly.

Hopefully it'll all become clear soon.

I cant make my mind up between the "its a done deal" camp or the "negotiation" camp, or the "we don't get him and we let Deacon go and end up with neither" camp.

The club surely isn't daft enough to let Deacon go without recruiting a decent replacement.

I expect that whatever comes out of the Orford negotiations will influence whether Deacon goes.

According to various sources Brough is wanting out of Wakefield with Hudders the front runners. That'd involve a transfer fee though so it rules us out.

I'd say that if the Orford deal dies a death then Deacon will still be a Bull in 2010.

The number of fantastic 32 years old blokes coming over are few and far between. We were blessed with a staggeringly fit Morrison and Menzies but how likely is it that we get the same again?

Are we saying that Deacon with a year left to run on his contract would go to Wigan for absolutely no fee? If not, then we could subsidise an offer to Wakefield and get a longer term option.
