Hopefully, having another genuine option in the halves will bring the best out of Luke Gale. His place has been pretty much guarenteed when he's been fit, but any combination of him, Sammut and Gaskell could potentially work.

Gaskell has been great for us, especially in attack. His defense is awful, but it's probably got something to do with playing him at fullback where any defensive errors are more obvious. In the halves he should get the protection he needs and his defensive frailty wont be as marked. Would have liked to have hung on to him, but he wants halfback play and he was told that it wasn't happening at Salford for him.

Could be a shrewd buy.

Happy with the gaskell signing very good attacking little worried about his defence qualitys but we will have to wait and see if he can rekindle his saints form well done FC & OK

As I mentioned on the Addy thread, I assumed this would be a like for like replacement, I see a lot of the same in the two, with Gaskell being quicker. However, it'll be interesting to see if the two will be in the same starting line up, and if Lee does play centre that could be quite a skillful line-up with Sammut, Gale, Addy, Sidlow, Bateman and Gaskell.

There's certainly no excuse for not finding touch with a penalty anyway with the kicking of 4 of those!

Technically, Blythe is also a new signing, but I'm not really counting it as a new player.

(FTR I like George, my favourite wing partnership in the league last season was George and McGillvary!)

Lee Gaskell yeah whatever. It's a good signing but this is not the announcement I wanted or expected.

I'm giving up emailing Gerry Sutcliffe about it now. I think the club is missing out. Some other venue will win the right to host the boob olympics and it'll be our loss.

I know we are short on coaches but can anyone name a signed player who has improved at Odsal in the last five years.

Elliott Kear, Brett Kearney, Heath, Scruton.

I think Luke George could be classed as one of these projects, and I'm fairly pleased with that signing.

Think Ferguson and Carvell are quality signings, and a few players with some potential and spark to bring to the squad will help us next year too.
