Bradford? Oh no it was all started in 1895 in Huddersfield unless I am mistaken?
Why you asking me what it's like down at the bottom of the league? You should know and I don't need to ask you what it's like up at the top cos at the mo we are up there and enjoying it too.
Why do you keep harping back to when Bradford were doing well and the Giants not so well? You all had your fair share of widdle taking back then.
This season it's time for all you Dulls fans to sit back , relax and take it on the chin you poor poor souls.

This birth place of rugby league thing, isn’t it just because Huddersfield was a convenient place for all participating clubs to meet and not much else?
Oh and you have a very long way to go before you can compare yourselves with the bulls of recent years, and so do we (Leeds).

Sort of the original meeting was meant to be somewhere over the pennines but it snowed off so they agreed to meet at the George Hotel in Huddersfield because it was quite central bbeing on the border of Yorkshire and Lancashire and was near the train station.
Also there were a number of clubs involved in this meeting not just Huddersfield meaning that they were'nt the first club in Rugby League they were one of the founding members.
Although funnily enough they are the oldest clubs being established in 1864 (well the original club was not in it's current guise) followed by Hull FC (again in terms of the Hull club not this current company) in 1865.

In fact (although neither was Bradford Northern) there were two Bradford clubs at that meeting meaning Bradford had a better representation than Huddersfield. Not forgetting that the first champions were Manningham (later to become Bradford City).

1984
From the Wikipedia
Quote The club joined the Second Division in 1984 and played at the Owlerton Stadium. A competition was run in the Sheffield Star newspaper to find a name for the new club and "Sheffield Eagles" was the winner. The first Eagles league game was on 2nd September 1984 when they beat Rochdale Hornets 29-10'"

Except technically that club plays at the Galpharm.
I'd say the current guise of Sheffield was established in 1999.

Which is, in the context of accuracy, all 100% correct. As I need to spell it out, the word "replacement" was used by that poster NOT in the context of a like-for-like replacement of Big Joe (which is what you claimed) but in the context of replacing one type of player with Vagana's strengths, with a completely different type ,of player with other strengths that the OP felt Joe did not have. What's your problem? Can't read?

Quote ="FLYINGPROP"The reason we come on here to wind you fools up is the very fact you have to try and justify everything, take the banter like it is meant, you have givenn it out for long enough while Huddersfield were struggling, seems like teddy comes out of cot when the boot is on the other foot.'"
Leaving aside that I thought you were trying to make serious points, and not a (now self-admited) mere wind-up merchant (noted for future reference), you're clearly deluded. Or maybe you've seen all the toys lying around YOUR pram, and decided to back down and pipe down a bit, to save face. But you said what you said, and there it all is in b&w. It was no wind up, you genuinely believed it and you're just trying to pretend that you were being a prat, because you reckon it's better than being made to look foolish.
Oh, you couldn't wind up a watch. The evidence rather proves that your rubber band was actually rather tightly twisted by me. Now run along.

As for top 4, you need to talk to those who said that. I have only put you straight on your quotes. (And your diversion hasn't worked, you were still wrong. It clearly rankles)
As for "strongest pack in the league", where we are in the table makes any comment look sick, and it's easy to take the pish. But if you did ever want a serious discussion, (which i doubt) I'd still reckon that, if we ever had most of them fit, yes, the claim is a reasonable one. We don't whinge about injuries etc. but when discussing the 'strongest pack' it is valid to [ipoint out[/i (nothing more) that most of the year key players have been out with long-term injuries, in particular Solomona and Morrison. We'll now never know, but in your lucid periods if you have them even you must concede that these long term injuries mean the claim wasn't, and now can't be, properly tested. Still, I'd put up a fit pack of Burgess, Newton, Lynch, Menzies, Morrison, Langley with Solomona, Godwin, Scruton, Worrincy on the bench against anyone's pack. I suspect you would too, if you were truthful.

Firstly we have not had any sucess yet and no-one has claimed to have apart from you saying we have had a teeny bit?.
Secondly
I would back Crabtree Moore and Mason against Burgess (Good Player granted) Newton(so good you let him go!!) and Lynch anyday
Raleigh and Wild would stand up against Menzies and Morrison (so good you let him go!!)
Solomona (good player too) would get my vote over Finnigan but Langley wouldn't
We also have Griffin, Jackson, Kirmond and Faiumu and this is just the Giants pack, are you also claiming to be stronger than Saints, Leeds, even Wigan?
You still ain't got the strongest pack in SL!!!

Which proves what exactly about the Huddersfield Giants?
The UN is based in New York so I suppose that proves that the Yanks are the biggest ambassadors of peace on this spherical mass we call earth?
Actually by your reckoning everybody of any interest in any football code is nothing unless they support Eton school for boys and their fantastic wall game.
It's a pretty poor show when a team that is second in table can only think pf the fact that the meeting between team chairmen from all over the North of England that gave birth to the sport accidentally took place in the town in which their team plays as a means to take the p out of their local rivals who having ruled the roost while they struggled during recent years are now only saved the embarrassment of being bottom by the two teams promoted from the largely semi proffessional division below.
Let me give you a bit of material here because I can't read any more of this we are at number twelve in the table you are at number two in the table please please please use this as the basis of your banter because that is at least relevant not a meeting that took place 114 sodding years ago!

Finnigan, compared to Langley, what a set of jokers.

| Theres only 1 set of jokers, the ones who think Bradford are gonna finish top 4, or even still make the playoffs!!, the ones who think Bradfords pack is the strongest in SL!! the ones who still believe Bradford are a good team and you have been unlucky this year.
Don't try quote me to say I am making this up , read the Bradford posts : Predictions and Strongest Pack in the League.
Give me strength, when will you realise Bradford are on the slide, take a look at the table for a sec, no not up there you will need to look a little lower!!!
If you wanna stay living in a dream world believing the table is lying then good on ya and enjoy until reality kicks in.
I am not just speaking as a Giants fan I am speaking as a Rugby League fan and a realist.
I quoted Giants players to compare to your pack but could quote many teams , Saints pack with Graham Cunnigham and Cayless, Puletua and Wilkin and Roby is better than Bradfords, Leeds pack with Peacock, Buderous and Leulei, Lauatiti, JJB and Sinfield is better than Bradfords, Wigans pack with Fielden, Riddell, Paleasiina, Hansen, Hock and O,Loughlin is better than Bradfords.
LOOK AT THE LEAGUE!!!!!!!! You do not lose all those games thru luck and having the best pack in the league

| This is the reality.
Bulls are a good team, we've just not played as a team on enough occasions this season. 1 very poor season does not make a club on the slide or a poor team.
We'll see how much Bulls are on the slide with how we respond next season, you can bet your last dollar it will be nothing like this one.
I can't do with fans of tin pot clubs that think they are the shizzle because they have had one good season and finished above the Bulls for the first time in a million seasons.
They really grate me.
