He already won everything the british game had to offer when he was here last time though, so....it's a strange one for me.'"

I think its simply a case of a player wanting to play at the highest level available to him week in week out. If there had been no superleague club offer or we were still in superleague he'd have signed for us I'm sure, as it is he's just decided to play at the level he clearly belives hes able to (quite rightly for him IMHO). I'd have loved Leon back but if he can play on in super league then fair play.
It also sounds positive that Marc Green has said the club will look to "invest strongly" in the playing staff if we go down, we'll have to wait and see who we attract/who we let go/who we retain once relegation is confirmed. Clearly though talks are going on regarding next season, its just we've not heard about them, but we have heard about this one beacuse its Leon.

Haha! That's not quite what I meant, I was assuming Leon wouldn't take the p*ss when it came to salary requests. But if Marc Green is willing to throw six figures at a court hearing, that's basically Leon's salary right there gone in a sniff.

didnt he say similar when took over about bringing reinforcements in to try and stay in SL. Since then we've seen Fakir and a raft of loan players who go back to their parent clubs as soon as they get match fit. Meanwhile Green hides behind comments about players not wanting to sign for a club in a relegation position, despite Salford and wakefield both managing to bring players in whilst in same situation.
Green made a comment when he too over that he wasnt a talker and we should judge him on his actions. So far pretty much all he's done is talk. Hopefully we do have players lined up but not announced until relegation is confirmed, but until we atart announcing players I'm still nervous about Greens long term plans.

You can't really compare us to Salford. I don't think Wakefield have made any permanent signings recently.
I don't think people realise how hard it is for us to buy players. The liklihood of clubs letting players go half way through a season are slim, especially props. We can't afford transfer fees. If you were a player, why would you join the Bulls? Almost certainly nailed on for relegation. As a player you would wait to see what offers you had. Not jump straight in with team that's getting battered by 50 points every week.
Think we need to wait til the off-season to see what sort of investment he's put in.

| Whilst we are in this walking dead limbo of not officially being relegated, how can we possibly recruit? I presume all we can do is make conditional offers to our hypothetical SL2 squad. In which case, they’d be well within their rights to go for a firm offer elsewhere.

How many fans do you think you'll take there?

| Exactly. There was a time when we could have signed players, but we didn't, and as our results have progressively slid down the pan and the nails started to be hammered into our coffin, possibilities rapidly began to recede into the distance, until the moment passed. You could argue about when that was but the fact is it did, and the exact official date is purely academic.

Hard to say. Bulls usually attend magic weekend in decent numbers.

| Too true Duckman. Just because the club aren't tweeting things it doesn't mean they are not working hard in the background. Diskin said last week that Green was trying to bring in players but nobody wants to come to us at the moment.

Well yes, I agree to a point, but he is new to the game, our club has been as good as down for a while so some players/club probably avoided us. This off-season is when he can make good on the talk, I haven't got the energy anymore to be too cynical about Mr Green (or the bulls/rfl/others for that mater), its easier to just hope for the best and wait for this season to end. Hopefully my passion for the club and sport will be rekindled next year, but for the moment I'll be turning up on Sunday and the rest of the season out of duty, not enjoyment, the constant negativity and cr@p over the last few years has worn me down.

Can't argue with any of that Duckman. Sadly we are probably a small number out of many who feel utterly drained following the soap opera that is Bradford Bulls.
Not a lot of enjoyment to be had turning up to watch the Bulls recently.

true, but hopefully a win will feel quite sweet if/when it does arrive, and we have the [ipotential [/ito rebuild well - it just feels a long way off at the mo. Ironically, whilst there are some Bradford fans in Bradford who wont be going to Odsal on Sun, due to a long standing arrangement Im bringing a non Bulls supporting sports fan to the match from my work in York on Sun so I'm doing my bit to boost the attendance....by 1 at least just hope we can keep in the game for longer than normal!!

Lowes said his search for new recruits for next season was continuing behind the scenes, with the Bulls effectively offering their targets a deal in the event of survival and relegation.
He explained: “You can only let them know what’s on the table with a Plan A or a Plan B and then the players have got to make a decision based on that.
“It’s a challenge for the club but it’s not going to be easy.

| TBF at least the depths we have to date managed to plumb now means any player we talk to knows 100% that any talk of "Plan A" is academic. Maybe that will make the convos easier.

| Not been on here for a while but looking at the comments of some referring to the Championship. Is it possible that rather than firefighting to stay in SL that we can now build a team for next year, Get an half decent team together have a season that bloods young lads and build there confidence over next season in a less stressful environment...coming back into SL in the right shape for it. Leon Price commented that he would be in the Bradford shirt if we would still be in SL. Frankly at his age he has missed an opportunity.

Just added a long comment on following Bulls in SL thread, most comments pre 2005, makes you realise how good we were then, and how crap we are now!! Like most, just want this season over and see some positive recruitment signs for next year showing we've hit the bottom and are now on our way upwards again.

| That about sums it up Mirfield. Realisation is the real "bugger" of it all.
However in the words of the song "the only way is UP" which probably applies to suppositories as well, and we would also be able to find a few orifices which many of us would like to administer very large ones into???
Not going to open a new thread to guess who's Orifice that might be???
