| Blackmore was injured and couldn’t come off on Saturday and missed a game recently with a knee injury so maybe he needs a rest?

| Quote ="Nothus"I've seen this guy play a few times for Hull and to say he's hot headed is an understatement. Makes Harry Newman look calm and composed by comparison. Not sure playing with the grubs down here in the championship is the best place for him but let's see I guess.'"
Perhaps.
Although on the other hand showing a talented player that if he doesn’t sort his attitude out and get his head right he will find himself playing with the grubs down here in the championship might be exactly what he needs.
If we benefit from that for the full season then great. If we get two games out of him and he leaves our own players (rightly) peed off then not so great.
I don’t like this much chopping and changing but we’ve struggled with injuries to key players and most sides are paper thin so a case of needs must unfortunately.

| Bring back the days of bringing in in a loan player if your squad is down to bare bones due to injuries.
Imagine if a team with so many loan players got promotion where would they get there players from to compete in Super League.
If IMG would allow the team promotion anyway.
Rugby League run by muppets with the attitude of if this new idea doesn't work let's go back to what we were doing before and see if that works this time.
No wonder our sport will never move forward.

| Not hard to be down to the bare bones when you only sign two centres to begin with.

| And there lies the problem, we haven’t got the budget to have 3 players for every position and sign the so called marquee players, so you either sign bang average and have quantity or take a gamble that you get cover in on loan or dual reg in an area that not particularly strong. I do agree that 2 wingers and two centres plus Myers who at the start of the season was unknown is very light
I heard a rumour about QareQare over winter but i suspect we didn’t have the budget to take him on a proper season long loan with no recall as this would mean covering all his wages

| Blackmore had a knock vs Fax but couldn't be replaced. DFJ had a knock before the Batley game and didn't look himself at all and had a poor game. Suspect he's not right.
We did go in very light indeed in the backs this season with no cover whatsoever for centre and wing. So it's unsurprising given the budget that it's there we have to find cover with loans.
On the wider point I think the elite clubs are increasingly using dual reg and loans and championship clubs don't have the budget to resist. It does devalue the competition but this has been happening by stealth for some years, it seems we've caught a lot of criticism but I suspect others before us have done exactly the same. Having a reserves and academy means that some criticism is merited - what's the point if there are no backs ready to cover apart from Myers but it does depend on where those players are in their development. It's be good to here the rationale from someone at the club.

Your right Bullseye. It was only a couple of years ago that Fev were getting so much flak for having Rhinos players.
We don’t have a moneyman backer or a business man like Andy Mazey (Rochdale and Swinton). So we do have to budget accordingly. So if loans and DR cover our shortfall then needs must obviously. Until our academy lads are ready if course. But instead of loaning folk like Butler, why aren’t we giving Green a go? Him, Myers and Flanagan JR look like the next ones to play first team (I’d like to see Camden too). Wallace was an unused sub the other week. Could have give Green that spot for some gametime.
The backs I can understand the loans as we came in with 2 centre (plus Myers) and 2 wingers (no real academy back up).

| Think Green's had a knock too recently remember something about a thumb injury. Take the point though about the forwards.

| Ah that makes sense then. I know I heard and interview regarding Ho and Dunning said it was a case of IF he came back and not when so out of the young lads only Green and Ho looked anywhere near first team. So losing Ho is a bit of a bummer on the development side of things.

| This is bringing into focus the role of the Reserve team. We are indeed very light on first team outside backs, but the reserve squad, as listed on the club website, has a players like Adams, Banham, Barrett, Horner and Walker amongst their number. All of these appear to be centres or wingers. They are listed as Reserves, not Academy players. In addition we have two wingers whose contract status is a little obscure, Mackenzie Scurr and the Fijian chap who’s name I can’t spell.
Are none of these guys ready to provide cover in the First Team?

I remember this interview and feeling surprised that the interviewer didn’t push Dunning further on this. It’s a heck of a thing for a coach to slip into the conversation, almost as an afterthought, that he feels it’s a question of “if rather than when” a player is going to return from injury. It was obviously an extremely serious injury and I hope Ho is going to be ok. Whether or not we ever hear any more or not, remains to be seen.

I heard he’d taken a break from rugby for personal reasons. Wasn’t his contract up in May in any case?

He did only sign a short term deal your right.
As for his current status, who knows the club tell you nothing about whats happening with the players. More p i 55 poor communication from the club.
Gledhill will propbably be reading this and it will get asked at the next coaches interview.

| Hull not taking up the option of extending Wynne's contract. With the form they're are in, probably says a lot about his attitude that they're not taking the option of extending an home grown products contract as part of their rebuild.
That said guess it's an opportunity for him/us to prove himself as he'll be with us the rest of the year now. It's all down to him.

| Loads of players don’t get the option taken up, Hull are rebuilding so I’m not sure we can say for definite it’s an attitude thing, maybe just a clear the decks by Hull? Let’s face it they look like they need a re build

I know this might sound crazy but maybe they arent extending hes contract because hes just not good enough and its nothing to do with his attitude.

From what I've seen he certainly has the ability to be a SL player, any idea why he isn't is the squad for today's game?
