In fact, the very fact that you seem to rate a warm up game for Manly as being more important to Quins than league points pretty much emphasises this.

Perhaps the RFL should have a look at these opinions and revoke the SL licence for Quins (or whatever they will be called in 2012) because it is obviously of lesser importance to them these days.

A slight benefit for RL in general and a specific benefit for RL in london - I can see that. The only team which was disadvantaged by this friendly was us. There wasn't a downside for Harlequins at all. At least the weather has fixed that. Harlequins will now also have to play a midweek match (3 games in 8 days or so). Once the injuries and fatigue start to pile up and the squad is stretched to the limit they will be able to say - well at least we had a prestigious friendly against manly Sea Eagles to offset the ([iworst case[/i) loss of 6 valuable SL points

On the playing side this isn't too bad for Bradford. One lesse game on feb (which is the wettest month of the year) is one less game for players to get soft ground related injuries in. It also means that we've more chance of winning this game as Quins will really notice the extra fixture if it's earlier in the season.

RL in London has been given the big push in London for long enough and there is still very little interest in the game. The game v Manly will change nothing at all.

I realise that you are a little hard of understanding on such issues so perhaps you should just continue to live in your little fantasy bubble.

They will not scrap the game, that much is obvious but to even think that it will make any difference to future Quins crowds is utter folly. People (Oz ex-pats) may well come to watch Manly, but that is where there interest will end.

However, as I will say again, if you value a friendly as more important than a league game then I find that puzzling. Admittedly, Quins are never involved in meaningful big games so I guess that they will have to cash in at any chance they get.

I don't see it as a big deal. We all have to be flexible about fixtures these days anyway, especially at this end of the season. Play the friendly, I wouldn't expect anything else at this kind of notice. Pretend it will make a difference to your club's crowds and general standing if you really want to push the boat out, but don't pretend that local advertising endeavours are more relevant than the primary business of the league. That's just silly.
