I would have taken that result before the game kicked off considering the team we had out. We showed a lot more effort than last week but it is easy to see why some of our young lads are with us and not still trying to cut their teeth in SL.

If this is Matty Blythe playing for a new contract then I'd hate to see what sort of performance he'd put in with his immediate future sorted.
So many comical passages of play from him today. Please Rohan, do not offer him a new deal. Use his wage to keep hold of Olbison and Pitts.

Interesting seeing Smiths post-match. Wasn't happy. Think he's losing patience with some players. From what i've seen of Smith, he's not one to lose his rag easily.

He he didn't look comfortable. I liked what he said later though - "we have four halves next year".

Well Charnock is ooc at the end of the year and has said he would like to remain at Bradford.

So that would take it up to 5.

RS quoted when questioned about Charnock ''we have 4 halfbacks signed for next year and Charnock isn't one of them, unless something changes there I'm not sure''

Chisholm, Keyes and Thomas currently confirmed. Rumoured Thomas is going to be out on loan next year. Pryce still isn't confirmed to us, so was an interesting quote.

Was one of the promoted 19s a half? Pickersgill perhaps? Rohan might be including him in the 4 if so.

Pickersgill is a fullback as well as a stand off.

Can anyone clarify what the penalty was for when Howarth went off injured? I thought it was for lying on, but given he appeared to be knocked senseless I considered it a little harsh.

That is what it was given for but to fair to Mr Woodhead if you are going to question that decision then there were probably 10 or so more decisions that could also be questioned. The randomness of some of his penalties is a joy to behold. On at least 1 occasion for both teams he gave a penalty for holding down in a tackle that seemed quicker than 90% of the ones before it and then in the very next tackle the holding down would be worse and it were ignored. They say you get what you deserve and unfortunately for both of us he is the standard of ref we deserve.

The 2 guys challenging Moss before his 80m try were in front of the kicker. One by about 5m, the other only by about 1m. I'm sure Mr Woodhead or his assistant had spotted it but graciously allowed advantage....
But yes, completely random officiating.

In the refs defence, maybe he didn't know he was unconscious. I often wonder myself with the time some players take to get up.

To be fair, in the last few games Morrison has put him at centre and he's looked far better. But with the exception of 3 or 4 games, he's been utterly terrible at stand off!

To be fair though, it would ALMOST be worth finding a place for him at centre just for his place kicking!

Not having a go at the ref (I suspect it's a difficult thankless task), but it's possibly the first time i've seen an unconscious player concede a penalty.

It was an awful decision. He may not have known when he blew the whistle but he certainly did before the kick was taken.

We've seem refs in SL change a decision when the video shows it to be wrong so there was no need to let the penalty stand. Referee Woodhead is clearly just a jobsworth with no thoughts of his own.
