| There's no detail yet.
Will the championship salary cap be increased? Or a floating charge of 50% of income?
The relegated SL clubs will have parachute payments for the first time ever.
Will SL loan players be allowed in the mini-league?
What about if they've been loaned since the start of the season?
Quota players?
Assuming that the SL clubs won't have to fit championship salary cap restrictions just for the minileague, logically the championship clubs will be allowed up to the SL cap for that 7 weeks (8 clubs, play each other once).
How will that work?
Where will they get the players from?

Of the regular first teamers, Danny Addy, Tom Olbison, James Donaldson and Adam O'Brien have come through our academy system. [size=50I'm going to keep quiet about the exact number of academy players in our 25 man squad just in case the RFL still have rules for this sort of thing.[/size
[urlhttp://www.bradfordbulls.co.uk/squad/first_team[/url'"
Wood, conroy, brooks,Mellor, bates and Roberts count towards total too. Thing to remember is there's a lot of lower numbers missing in our squad eg 6, 8 and 10 due to late departures of sammut, scruton and Carvell. Don't think loan players count on 25 man squad either.

Even more painful given they still haven't won anything of note despite the millions Davy must now have put into the club to fund the side.

at least he has got millions to pump into the club unlike certain recent owners of bradford bulls
but as FP rightly says , finishing bottom 4 years on the trot did our club no favours whatsoever, we had to go down ( eventually) and build our way back up,with a far smaller fan base than yours, which we have done quite nicely over the last 10 years.
im pretty sure given the right people in charge bradford will do that..

| If the new SL format does not see any promotion or relegation after 2-3 years and SL teams just stronger and stronger than the lower league i's not sure it will remain around for long.

As I understand from what I've read, the SL cap goes up to around £2m and the Champ to a bit less than half of that. Not sure about parachute payments as, if the usual applies and SL contracts at relegated clubs are voided, then, unlike say soccer, there is no real financial need anyway as the big money contracts 'disappear', though it is vital to maintain the academy.
Again, to the best of my knowledge, Championship clubs will still be allowed just the one overseas players and I've heard nothing to suggest there will be any difference for the mini-league, though as you say, and particularly with four clubs on the search, it would be difficult to find players to bring in anyway.
It would be good to hear something different but the system was brought in to maintain the status quo, imo - and it will do a pretty good job.

Just a note to say again that I know of no such standard clause in contracts and have never seen one. Which is not to deny they will of course occasionally exist, but whenever this has previously come up, nobody has ever been able to back up the claim that it is some "standard clause". It's therefore not. The standard clause thing is just a myth.
I imagine now that P&R are back it might well suddenly start appearing, or something like it, in new or renewed contracts going forward but that would be a change.

Dunno, FA. Urban myth or not, there has to be some kind of work through to cover the fact that A) a club is only allowed one overseas player in the lower divisions and may well have three or four under contract at the end of a SL season and B) the sum of the contracts is almost certainly going to break the Championship cap by a significant margin.
Incidentally, my argument all along has been that P&R is no more back next year than it was under licensing - though relegation is certainly on the agenda at the end of this season - and even under big, bad, evil licensing there was the occasional club brought through...a situation I can't truthfully foresee under the latest incarnation.
P&R will exist in the same sense as the possibility that I may take a months holiday in the Bahamas or buy a new 'Roller' or private jet: that is to say whilst all of that is legally possible under the law of the land, it is purely a notional concept which, not to put too fine a point on it, just isn't going to happen. I may, or more likely may not, be proved wrong on that but it is my very firm opinion.

To be honest FA, I thought that, on relegation, as the club was obviously unable to service them, the SL contracts became null and void on relegation. It must be said there are varying views on this though..

| I only mention it as I've never seen such a "SL only" contract nor do I know anyone who has, nor can I find a specimen of some "model" specimen SL-only contract and so I was wondering where people have got this notion from. If people can actually point to specific cases where these exist then fair enough, but it's just that, to date, nobody seems able to do so. Which seems odd.
