Indeed! Age doesn't weary him so the the years shouldn't condemn.
Still no mention of him being re-signed though, which (new coach coming in, admittedly) I find baffling.

| Depends what Potter sees as the priority for the team.
There are so many areas of the team that need strengthening. With little or no quota space there could be a lot of negotiations ongoing.
I would say though that IMO Menzies is one of the top 3 players at the club, he's the best second rower and the best centre too.

| I'm pinning all my hopes on his re-signing (and Langley's) being announced at the Fans' Forum. If that comes and goes with no news about him playing next season, I will assume he is leaving the club.

Ask Kevin Sinfield since he knows all the details of every Leeds players contract. How else could he proclaim to know they could all earn more money elsewhere?

No idea. I just thought it might be a controversial statement.

Seriously speaking here:
I'm pretty sure that Sinny knows roughly what each player is on at the club, as would all the players, He also knows what both he and what other players have been offered to move to other clubs
Apparently there's a rigid pay structure in place at the Rhinos, whereby each player is paid <roughly>the same ammount depending on which catagory they fall into.
IMO i think that is the best way to run a club, especially with a salary cap in place
EG:
1: Academy aged player but in the 1st team squad =£....
2: Regular player and in the 25 man squad =£....
3: Regular player and in the 25 man squad but also an international =£.....
GH reckons that it's a transparent system whereby players know at what level they are at at the club and what further salary they could expect if they move up to the next level.
Hence the reason why certain home grown players have moved to where "the grass is seemed to be greener"
The only exception to this rule is that, allegedly Danny Buderus is rumoured to be on £300,000 per season by certain posters on SS.COM

you would hope that if either is leaving at end of season then club will have good sense to announce it before the last home game and allow fans to give them a good send off. Surely the club has learned from the farsical way they handled robbie's departure

Why if he's choosing to leave its a different circumstance.

| Indeed, club won't usually do anything special for a player who has been offered terms but chooses not to accept and leaves. Red...do you know anything or was your comment just a general observation?

| I always said I would always renew my season ticket regardless, nothing would stop me getting a ST for the Bulls.
However, if the club chose to let Langley and Menzies go, and the replacements are of the standards weve seen over the last few years I would highly consider against a ST. We need answers, but we all know Robin Hood won't give any proper answers next week.

| I can't see the club 'choosing' to let Langley go in all honesty. If he did leave (I sincerely hope he doesn't) then it would be because Jamie Langley wanted to go elsewhere or was offered more money than we could offer. In those circumstances all the club can do is make their best offer.
Menzies is a very tough call, he has been an outstanding signing and probably one of our best players this year. If the club were to make a 'business' decision on him, then the incoming quota player would need to be of the highest quality and in a position that we're weak in.

| Myself personally, I think Langley would never leave if the club wanted him. He's been a fantastic servant and a committed player to the Bulls cause for 10 years now, and as long as we want him, I'm sure he'd stay.
My mind casts back to Jamie Peacock though.. I might not be 100% on this, but he was happy to stay wasn't he, but the club wouldn't give him an improved contract because all the funds had gone on Harris?

| So JP said. I don't think it was necessarily exactly like that (remember, for example, that a big chunk of Harris' earnings was image rights paid by a supposedly independent third party (until the RFL mysteriously ruled otherwise, unlike in similar cases like Sculthorpe) - something where he could likely command rather more earnings power than JP?
But JP was a casualty of Caisley's obsession with getting Harris and one over on Leeds - it seems to me. So its hardly fair to liken the current situation to that time?

| All this rumour, counter-rumour stuff sounds oh-so-familiar to many of us who follow Wigan.
Been there, done it......And wondered if the merry-go-round would ever end. Nightmare!
I dont think there's anyone that feels good about whats happening to the Bulls these days (not even Rhinos fans!).
I have a few Bulls-supporting mates over on the Dark side of the Pennines, and they are utterly demoralised by the way the club has fallen so far, in such a spectacularly short period of time.
Your board need to get it sorted......And soon!
SL NEEDS a strong, well supported Bradford team to be on the up and up.
Until recently, the visit to Odsal was one of THE must-attend away games.
Great atmosphere, loads going on around the ground, and a properly tough team to beat (even in the fog!).
And i truly hope those days can come back again in the very near future.

| JP wanted a new contract practically just after he'd signed one 18 months before. Langley is due for contract renewal and given since his last signing which was 2006 IIRC. Bulls must keep Langley.

| JP was also a much bigger catch than Langley. Although Langley is a fine player other clubs will not see his signing as such a coup. It would be very worrying if we were unable to keep a player of his ability and history with the club.
