Hiys guys,as i know of it,it costs in the region of £400,000 to run the academy set up so the 2 chairmen got together and thrashed out a joint set up idea which saved both clubs cash,then only last week it gotshelved coz HKR found out 11 or so of the Fc youngsters was signed already on long deals therefore hkr had zero chance of signing them but would have been contributing to their training.
This i think has scuppered the idea and as far as i know its on hold.

As for the cash flow loss etc HKR have,we are trying to cut back and i personally think we will be ok,just my own personal opinion mind.
For years since we got into SL we have run debt up,it was expected to stay in SL,now is the time for us to become self sustaining and thats what our BoDs are aiming for.

Good to hear it's not happening. There's no point in reducing the number of imports if we're not going to have as many young players getting an opportunity. I would've thought that the more sustainable long term way of running a side is to bring through your own young players rather than splashing the cash on transfer fees or bringing in big names when their deals are up.

Doesn't seem to be how kr fans thought the deal was structured.

It was not just sharing facilities, it was going to be a full joint effort, but FC wanted to ring fence all the best lads for themselves.

It was a bad idea from the off and was one that was foisted on the clubs by the RFL.

Hull Fc wanted to keep the existing under 16's that we had as they are going to our first team in a few years, they are the best 16's we have had in a while and after the BOD have invested heavily in our youth system brand new training facilities/State of Art aftercare ect ect after years of under investment why not.

This was communicated from the beginning saying unless the 16's we have now are ring fenced it wouldnt happen, another sticking point that came up was who was going to train them, AP wanted a top ex professional to come and do it while KR didnt want to pay out for that.

Think the fans from both sides thought is was a stupid idea from the start but it is what the RFL wants 6 super Acadamies for all teams, so when the WIgan/Saints - Leeds/Bradford ones are proposed you will all see where we are coming from.

typical rovers fan, twisting things always playing the poor man and hard done too, fc only wanted to ring fence their u16s who we have brought through and are one of the best 16s in their comp.

Perhaps they had to call it off as the fans were too immature to get along with each other?

Looks like KR are having to sell off some of the playing staff with Green going to Wigan. Seems similiar to the Lynch to FC deal we did a year ago and doesn't look good - hope they manage to keep themselves afloat

we sold green to wigan as he was on big money and only managed 8 games for us last season oh and wigan wanted to buy him of course. We've replaced him with an arguably better player in travis burns from penrith who has more than 100 NRL starts to his name.

Our chairman has stressed we need better value out of our big earning foreigners this year as the likes of clinton, jake webster, mcdonnell, green and even galea spent long spells sat in the stand, we are looking for value for money from the cap as a strategy, seems more than sensible to me.

I think, to be fair, that many of them actually can and do. Unfortunately, like so many things in life, the lowest common denominator seems to set the tone for the rest..

A very good friend of mine is a rinos fan, I'll hug her whether she has a shave or not.

I know three Rhino fans I'm very happy to regard as friends.

The vast majority of them are just like Bulls' fans to be honest; a bit biased, want their team to win, tend to see incidents from their own team's perspective, only scream, "forward" when their opponents do it....oh, and generally feel the ref doesn't give them a fair crack of the whip!!

We, the great RL fraternity, all have far more which unites, than divides us.
