| What they said above.
Proud to see a full stadium with access for real fans. Just wish I'd got tickets in the ballot!

| I loved the two lasses in the boat who won the gold medal and when they stopped rowing they just stared for ages, totally vacantly, as if they couldn't believe they'd won, then broke into wonderful ecstatic smiles when realisation hit - not ashamed to say I shed a little tear at that. Bloody magnificent moment in a wonderful games.

Too right mate! I tell ya! The Aussies were having a right dig last week, almost mocking us poms! Plenty of humble doing the rounds down here now ! Work will be funny on Monday! Hope you are well?

| The rowing 4 sounded really annoyed with the comments made by the aussies before the final. No idea what they said but it obviously peeved the GB team. When asked what he would be doing today one replied "I'm going to find some of those commemorative stamps with our picture on and post them to Australia"
And never mind being proud to be British, apparently Yorkshire are 7th in the medal table!

| Yorkshire are beating Aussies in the medal table.
Fantastic night of sport really enjoyed it. Jess Ennis was fantastic. Masses of pressure and expectation on her being the face of the games and she handled it brilliantly. Great to see. 4 years of these athletes life all aimed at these one games.
I am actually supprised how interested I have been in these games been watching sports I wouldn't normally be interested in.

| Although I was looking forward to the cycling I had become pretty cynical about the whole commercialisation of the event. Mitt Romney & the incredible opening ceremony have transformed me into an addict. The humility & comradeship of the first week eventers has been a joy to behold. I hope the track & field athletes can maintain that standard of behaviour. Why isn't handball massive in this country? What a game.

| Awesome performances. Incredibly proud, especially of Jess after her battles, and very pleased for all the British medal winners. It's not always easy to be British is it, but the Olympics have made me so.

| It has been brilliant so far. The rowers and cyclists led the way and last night was just immense. I though Wiggo nailed on for sports personality of the year, but not so sure now.
Mo Farrah is outstanding, I'd back him for the 5000m too.

| The bookies stopped taking bets after Wiggins gold but are now offering Wiggins 1/2, Ennis 5/2
Surely a Tour de France followed by an Olpympic gold will trump "just" an Olympic gold?
And Wiggins deserves it for being prepared to act as Mark Cavendish's pace maker just a few days before his own event.

As much as I celebrated Ennis's victory it doesn't compare to 3 weeks TdF followed by 2 road races only a week later. Though it will be refreshing to have female sports people in the mix.

Yes. Excited about those two. High hopes for a gold and silver today. It will move Yorkshire up the medal table.

Same here. It's really helped with my post-Tour blues. La Vuelta should help with my post-Olympic blues. Then I'm on my own.

After the Tour I said they'd never give it to two cyclists on the bounce, especially in an Olympic year. Not so sure now though. After what's happened to cycling in this country over the last couple of years it doesn't seem like such an unlikely shout now.

| Some great stuff in the closing ceremony, but how you can have a celebration of British culture & not include anything by the Rolling Stones is a mystery. Arguably the greatest rock and roll band of all time.
