What do you all think about dropping those that wont be here and those that bring nothing for the remainder of the season and playing the commited and young lads where we can.

I think it's the way forward.

How about our proper u20's centre in Rob Hawthorne not makeshift and do players.

Trouble is the young lads play exactly the same as the first team and that has to be down to the Coaching! I don't know what the answer is but it needs to be radical. It's making the marketing job a poison chalice of a task......

I havent seen Hawthorne play for a while, I know they were expecting big things from him. I was mainly just trying from our first team squad, however Hawthorne would be fine from what Ive seen.

I thought you wasn't right big of Hawthorne, Red? How's he progressing? Strengths and Weaknesses? Any idea how big the lad is?

I've known Rob for years hes progressing well still needs a bit work on his defence but is very strong he's bulked up well.

Seriously. Let's give him a shot. He couldn't be any worse - and for the last two matches against other teams with nothing much to play for its the perfect opportunity to try out anyone fron the U20s who looks decent.

That's been a problem for us for several years, reluctance to drop under performers, unfit players and players with poor discipline...

I would like to see Rob Hawthorne play the last few games of the season then with a big off season he could be ready to shine next year.

I honestly can't understand how you can slag off Herbie without mentioning BJ. The last 2 games he's been as ineffective as ever. It's really no wonder Wakefield weren't too fussed about losing him. If he's starting Stand Off next season over Gale, Sammut or even Briggsy we're screwed.

I would hope he comes into Potters category of 'shape up or ship out' - and since he clearly hasn't shaped up, then he could go.

TBH, I think it's less a reluctance to drop under performers but rather not having anyone of a standard to replace them. Last year we had a very thin squad and injuries have bitten hard. We seem to be struggling with injuries in key areas over recent seasons.

Herbies likely to be out for the remainder of the season with a broken hand, I think its worth a punt playing Bateman at 6 for the remainding games

Id much rather see southernwood get a couple of games under his belt this season. I'm pretty sure Bateman will be pretty ineffective at 6 barring the odd good pass. Keep him in the centre/2nd row for now. Southernwood's got a bit of a kicking game too which we'll desperately need, especially now Herberts out.
