Has been a top centre for 10 years due to the lack of talent in that area. His atitude has been way of for large parts of his career IMO. More trouble than the very high salaries he has attracted for only sporadic return.

Clearly if there was an evidence based test that would prove something in black or white as a banned substance issue then it would be something that could be discussed as a sample is simple proof and from previous events isn't something that would get near a court anyway, so it must be something else...

Eddie just mentioned that he may have been sacked on Sky.

Eddie Hemmings has just said on Sky Sports that and I qoute "the rumour is that Wigan have parted company with Martin Gleeson". Can't see how parting company - if that is the case - could end up in court but there you go.

Rumour to be official in the next couple of days.

Reason given for him not playing tonight is a hamstring injury.

Guess that means he's leaving because he's homesick.

It will be interesting to see if any other club takes him on. Seems that wherever he goes.. he seems to find himself caught up some sort of bother.

He'll be 31 in a couple of months, is he worth the hassle? I suspect there is a bit more of a story to come out just yet..

I'm happy with the idea of Platt as our strike centre. He's looked good every game so far even with limited opportunities, when we have some halves to get the ball to him more he'll only get better.

Never really rated Gleeson, has his moments but don't think he is better than what we have if we can get the ball to them. When I saw him the other week, first thing I thought was he looked way out of shape.

I think clubs would have to be very careful if they decide to take him on. He's been done for gambling, walked out on wire and now what ever he has allegedly done now. Not good for a cv
