I hope its off, with out Briggs and Herbert we've no chance, so would prefer to play it in a few months.

There's a good 3-4 inch of the stuff up in Queensbury. Granted we're higher up but there'll be snow at Odsal. Could be an issue if it stays cold. It's a vast old place to clear........

Cant say that id be too concerned with a match postponement considering our halfback injury problems. Id prefer to play Wigan with a few more games under our belts and hopefully a genuine halfback available.

I hope it is on, we don't want to be looking at playing a mid-week game (hopefully we might do well in the CC rounds).

Plus I still feel we can give a good performance tomorrow, a win will be tough but not the impossible task some on here would have you believe.

And guess what? Bar one or two questionable decisions we would have beaten Leeds comfortably. A Leeds team that ripped Hull apart last night despite losing a star man after about 15 minutes.

The pitch is likely to be sodden and it won't even be a day for the silkier side of the game anyway.

Welcome back from the dark side. I am eternally the optimist and it is odd how pessimistic some have become on here.

I fear it will be a passing visit squire. It is not in some peoples plans to let me be optimistic apparently.

If this snow was forecast I think the grounds team would have put the covers on the pitch so I don't think it will affect the state of the pitch

do we have covers? seem to remember something about us lending them to city a few years back and then never getting them back.

We had them on when we played cas last year when it was snowy and icy so I don't see no reason we shouldn't have them on now

We did lend them to some club but I don't think it was City (IIRC they have large wooden covers and ours is canvas sheeting) but a local RL club. Halifax??

It's not all about the state of the pitch though - it's also about fans, players and officials being able to make it to the game and in a safe manner.

10:50 Sat morning. Snowing quite heavily and the sky looks full of the stuff. The temperature is slowly rising though, but still only just above 1 degree. This is within three miles of the ground and slightly lower.

If temperatures rise to 9 or 10 degrees like they're supposed to then I think it will all melt in time so I dont think the game is in doubt.

Nobody wants the game called off, players/supporters etc. Although it would appear that most Bulls fans are saying they would take a cancelled game so we don't have to worry about playing without our first choice 6 & 7.

In Wigans case you could say this gives them a clean slate for their World Club Challenge game next week. They'll come through this weekends round without any fresh injuries and without having to blow and energy.

I'm not saying it's right but if the game was called I think both clubs would be slightly relieved.

From a Wigan pov we don't want the game called off. That'll be two games to catch up on if it does happen.

the problem with that is if it is postponed and played when briggs and herbert are fit then undoubtedly we'd be stronger. But wigan would have finch,roberts and lima back so they'd be be stronger too so it cancels out. I'd much rather we just played the game nowand took our chances. If we play like we did last weekend then we've got a decent chance. We're certainly not favourites and it will be a very tough game but were stilll in with a shout of taking something out of game.
