Not been impressed with saints u16s this year at all. They beat widnes last week but widnes should have put the game to bed in first 30 mins but blew chance after chance.

Coaching was what I gained from the game today. Wigan even have Steve Mccormack with their u16s. Poor.

Poor half backs no structure no kicking game. Pack out muscled. Wigan 6 Forshaw ran the show. Pretty sure he is a St. Helens lad. Got to question the coaching and recruitment.

Couldn't get there. Did Hanley play, if so what position and how did he go. Morgan Smithies is a standout player in that age group.
Ryan Forshaw is a good player, didn't he start off at Blackbrook?

I think Hanley got on for the second half I never seen the team sheet but a young black lad came on in second half and he was an outside back.

Was really impressed with the winger Kennedy he was at Brook. Bit short but powerful fast and can finish a try. Think he got 4.

Only Simms for Saints side did anything.

Crazy thing is that we do have good halves. Jack Welsby is England elite squad and possibly the most gifted 16yr old in the country imo. Josh waterworh is also a good halfback and obviously Lewis Dodd.

Ryan Foreshaw is a St helens lad (Wigan supporter) and was at brook but is now playing at St pats and he's another England elite player.

Jack Kennedy is at brook but went Wigan. Very strong pacy winger and one hell of a goal kicker.

Welsby is a full back for me. Great balanced runner but not got the passing or kicking game for the halves.

I agree, he probably is more of a fullback but I don't think anything wrong with his passing game. His kicking is Avg but that will come.

I've just read the report on the Saints site. Hanley scored two late tries. Hamlett who played centre also scored two, he is a very powerful and fast ball runner.
