| SAINTS have named their 19-man squad for Friday's First Utility Super League Round Seven game with Wigan Warriors.
Theo Fages returns to the squad whilst Atelea Vea misses out.
Keiron Cunningham will select his 17 from:
2. Tommy Makinson, 3. Jordan Turner, 6. Travis Burns, 7. Luke Walsh, 8. Alex Walmsley, 9. James Roby, 10. Kyle Amor, 12. Jon Wilkin, 13. Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, 14. Lama Tasi, 15. Greg Richards, 16. Andre Savelio, 17. Luke Thompson, 18. Dominique Peyroux, 19. Theo Fages, 20. Joe Greenwood, 21. Matty Dawson, 22. Jack Owens, 23. Shannon McDonnell.
I hope to see this:
McDonnell
Makinson
Peyroux
Turner
Dawson
Fages/Burns
Walsh
Walmsley
Roby
Amor
LMS
Greenwood
Wilkin
Tasi
Thompson
Savelio
Fages/Burns
Owens and Richards to miss out for.
My worst nightmare is Savelio coming in for Vea and the rest staying as it is.

Thats still a decent 17 despite the injuries, think KC will go for Richards as 4th prop, I think we all hold our breathe to see if Fages is going to get a game.

| Anyone else really nervous about this game?
I shudder with the thought that we will have Owens, Dawson and Walsh defending on the same side again. I still have the images of Ablett scoring on the half time buzzer...
Wigan have been defending well and I think we will struggle to break them down. We struggled to break down a Leeds team in the second half and they couldn't defend for toffee.
Good Friday losing streak to continue I reckon.

| I'm incredibly confident in Wigan being able to get within 10yrds of your line with ease, it's after that our problems start.
If your wingers hold their nerve and stick to their touch lines our one move is neutralised, we've got bugger all else to offer in attack

Its a derby, form goes out of the window for this match. Hopefully Owens won't be in the 17 and Dawson stays out on the wing with Turner back at centre, I seem to remember Dawson shows up well in defence when it comes to the derby. Wigoons are still struggling in the half backs department, its up to us to make sure that continues and not give them time and space. Good line speed defence and discipline should be brainwashed into the players, trouble is we don't know how our coaching team have prepared the players mindset, Wilkin can "big up" the game as much as he wants but it needs to be turned into reality.

| I've just heard the team. I don't know how accurate it is, but if it's true: I'm even more concerned.
I just can't keep up with Cunningham's thinking??

Does it involve Burns at 9 and Roby on the bench ?? If true I'm at a loss too

I wouldn't have a problem with that. The first 20 minutes are always pretty ferocious in the derby, and Burns likes the rough and tumble. Bring a fresh Roby on after 20-30 mins once things have slowed down a little and he'll be in a good position to inflict some damage.

The problem with that is we need to start well, for the first 20mins we need tight defence and good discipline, Burns doesn't contribute to any of these.

I think defending in the middle suits Burns. His lack of mobility gets shown up on the edges, but that's not such a problem in the middle. He's also aggressive and can put a shot on. His discipline is an issue, so it does carry some risk, but I don't think it's as crazy an idea as was being made out.

| If you want to start well you start your best players. I don't see the value in saving Roby. Especially after last week! We had all this bs with McIlorum starting for England because he's hard. I think it was proved to be flawed when England tried that. Roby is our best player and should therefore be on the pitch for as long as possible...i.e. From the start!!
Also, to finally bring Fages into this game is just crackers. He should have played vs Wakefield, but he now has to find his feet in his first Derby? I thought he was a project: would you throw your project into this sort of game for his debut?
I'm glad he has finally played him at 6, but it's only because turner is out?

| I can see him finding a place for Burns as back up as he still doesn't have full confidence in playing Fages on his own.

Is Turner out? He is in the 19 and if unless I am behind the times KC will again start him at S/O.
Fages to lose out or be on the bench
