Randomly ran into Richie Beaumont last night at a traffic safety awareness course (I had to watch the match on record so let this be a lesson - don't drive through red lights).

Not only does this mean that I can confirm he does actually exist in real life, but I also had a bit of a chat with him. He's currently on loan from Leigh at Whitehaven and reckon that his injury woes have finally cleared up and he's getting some decent game time. He's obviously hoping he'll get recalled to Leigh for the middle 8 games.

I thought I read somewhere Beaumont had been released from his contract at Leigh & had signed permanently for the side he was on loan to (Whitehaven as you say)

Not according to him.

Beaumont did indeed turn out to be a dud, but that's the nature of this sort of signing, some work out and some don't. Dawson was a simile signing but has filled a hole for Saints
