I don't think people knew one way or the other and from the article neither did Luke until recently. People did not want it to be career ending they just feared it maybe given other injuries they had seen in the past.

Good to know the lad still had the chance to play again.

Like I said at the time, he DID break his leg and DID dislocate his ankle and he DID do ligament damage.

And I was also correct when I said they feared he'd never play again.

I've spoke to Walsh recently and he doesn't expect to be back playing for a minimum of 6 month and possibly up to 9 month.

That quote doesn't sound like the timescale you're talking about

He did it in July, 6 months would take him to Jan, 9 months to April, if he's playing by April, he will have done well, anything earlier will be a bonus, but definitely not playing in January!

Impossible to predict but from people who have spoken to him 8 months out was mentioned.

He's clearly just pregnant and all this leg stuff is just a cover up.

It nay depend on what fixtures we get as ti whether it's a month earlier or later. You imagine they want him to get an easy run out first.

Assuming he misses 6 or 7 matches thats 30% of the season (1 st stage) so that might put the team under presssure to ensure they finish in the top 8.

I just thought, Having read the whole article, that he seems upbeat and happy now that the threat to his career is over and he seemed to think he would be back sooner rather than later. It may just be the way the quotes were written down, but he seemed to be hinting that he'd be back in training early in pre season. I haven't spoken to him personally so I could be wrong.

It's a horrific injury and I'm sure will take a long time before he's back playing to his best and got his confidence back.

The bottom line of that page on saints is telling us to get our seasons tickets bought

He might well be back in training but there is no way he'll play at the start of next season, I think the best case scenario as far as walsh goes is back after easter , build confidence and hopefully suffer no reaction(which he is bound to do at first) and be in fine fettle for the play off.

He is out for 10 months my brother n law moved laffranki last week and he told him.

He was interviewed on Granada Reports last night. His cast comes off next week and then he's in a boot for four weeks after which he starts weight bearing again. So I don't think your timescale fits with what is actually happening. I reckon he'll be good to go for the start of the new season.
