| Can't really argue with any of the picks to be honest although I'd have picked Sneyd over Myler going off current form.
Happy for the 5 lads that have been selected from St Helens and it's good to see a decent number of Saints players back in the England fold.

Does Trent Hodkinson's recent appearance for NSW not rule him out of contention for England?

I'm not 100% sure. I don't know definitively but I would have thought so. I don't think there's any official ruling as NSW of course sin't classed as an 'international' but I think the Aussies would see it as him being ruled out. He was available for selection for the World Cup but wasn't selected.

It's does indeed - part of the criteria for SOO is that they're all available for Australia (according to Wikipedia) ...
Though, thinking about it, he is [icurrently[/i available for Australia, and still declare himself for England at the end of the season (but he could never play SOO again after that)

Players must also be eligible to represent Australia at international level.

But like I say, it doesn't limit him to declare for England ...

Eligible but not restricted then essentially?
Can't see him giving up SOO for an England cap though.

Given he's never played for Australia at any level (I don't think) he's not restricted to Australia - he is dually eligible for Australia and eligible for England at the moment I think. SOO doesn't change that
Depends what happens this SOO I think, if Hodgkinson fancies himself as wins it this year, he could turn himself into a 1 time great enigma by only playing 1 series and winning 1!

| The squad meets the week Sydney Roosters have a bye.
It is also the week that Wigan play Widnes in their game in hand.
Wigan have had nine players selected (over 25% of the squad) and none will be available for the training camp.
Management McNamara style!

Indeed, he's basically selected hit to fit his schedule. The man is a grade A expletive.

| A friend of mine who is a director at London Skolars RLFC informs me of the chaos what goes on that meetings that involve McBanana. The guy is completely clueless and doesn't stick by his word on numerous issues. Kevin Brown and Mark Sneyd the form halves over the season so far and he doesn't pick them, Josh Charnley has been injured for most of the season and he finds himself in the squad. McBanana keeps saying he picks players on form..... He is completely and utterly out of his depth and needs sacking

| The addition of Chris bridge and Myler just highlights the lack of quality we have in the halves. Christ what a depressing thought.
Great news about Walmsley and Amor. Completely deserved!

Absolutely, interestingly too - no Rangi Chase.
I'm sure Widdop will come in at the end of the year, he has developed into an international level stand off but we still don't have that real controlling scrum half. Oh for an English Luke Walsh.

Oh yes. Didn't notice chase wasn't in there.
Yeah Widdop will drop in and probably play with sinfield. However I've no idea what we will get from using bridge in this training camp when someone like Powell would benefit far more from it

I thought Chase (and Hock) "retired" on the principle their boss didn't agree with chase being dropped for the semi?

| McBanna should never of got the job to manage the England team, he was never a good manager and proved that when he left Bradford before the season ended. He is a complete waste of space and England deserve a manager who lives in the UK and knows which players have been in form, who are injured and pick players on merit, not on being a favourite or being swayed by other coaches. Get Brian McDermott as England manager and I am sure we will see a different England squad

| As he picked the train on players cause lets face it Sargenson? CHARNLEY, MYLER AND JJB have Bradley played all year and you certainly wouldn't class Taylor as an Englang player. So I would like to know, who is keeping MacBanana informed about who is in form and who should be picked.
