| I'm after a bit of help with regards to having a drink before and after the game on Friday.
As I live in Ashton and have always driven to and from Langtree Park, I'm not too familiar with the route from the train station to the ground. I've only done it once and me and Hazzo ended up stood on some train track somewhere surrounded by dog and used needles. So I'm looking to avoid that if possible!
I'm taking a mate from work and we are having a drink before the game (probably in the the pub over the road from the station, unless it should be avoided?)and then were thinking of going to The George for a couple after the game, as I've heard it mentioned a few times on here.
So I'm after simple directions from the station to the footbridge, and then from the footbridge to The George and then from there onto the train station for after the game.
Any help appreciated. Thanks

| Walk out of the station and the Alfred is right in front of you. Its ok weve started useing it b4 games. When comeing out use the side door and walk to the right. Take the next left(50yds maybe) walk to end of that road another 50yds look to your right and the George is there.

| It's not too hard just go left out of the George,
left at the end of the street,
then left at the end of that street.
Walk until you reach the round about. Go right and walk until you reach the glass museum.
There is a road to the left, which becomes the bridge.
There are usually a lot of people to follow, so you should not get lost.
But Google maps street view are always a great way to familirise yourself as you get to see the visual landmarks before you get there.

Thanks mate, I appreciate that. I have just been trying to view it all on google but it doesn't look like the footbridge is on there, In fact, on the satellite view, the stadium isn't even on there!
I've just followed your directions on the street view and I ended up near St.Mary's Market and it wouldn't let me go any further. Am I close?

| I live in Ashton. Train from Bryn to St Helens takes 10 mins. (Beats driving/parking plus you can have a drink !).
I generally get the 6:15 train (Sometimes the 6:45 if I'm running a bit late) and go in the George before the game.
Just follow the crowd to the stadium.
After the match I either get the 22:11 back to Bryn and go in my local (Pit Pony) or go back to the George and then home on the last train 23:31.

Yep.
Opposite the front of the market is the world of glass.
Looking at the world of glass to your left there is a street which you can't go down on google street view. That street leads to the bridge.
There are a couple of business' down that street but car's can only get so far before it becomes pedestrian only.

Thanks. We most probably know each other, I lived 2 mins from the Pit Pony for 26 years! I'm also getting the 6:15 from Bryn and then the last one back.
Thanks for you help.
