Saints v Warrington, Wigan v Leeds. Plenty of other good matches, should be a good weekend this year.

This will be a great game, as will the Leeds Vs Pies game.
The RFL have got this right & will it will make for a far better Millennium Weekend.

I'm not sure it will. We've never approached the Magic games with any real intent and several Saints players have publicly stated their dislike of the event. The amount of times we've rolled over to Wigan without putting up any resistance shows this. I wouldn't be surprised if Wire win the Magic game by 40.

Same with Leeds and Wigan. Wigan, coached by that fool, will be at 110% and Leeds will be kicking back around that time of year. Another 40 point game potentially.

Only in Rugby League could they get something so simple WRONG.

Surely Wigan v Wire and Saints v Leeds would have been more suitable?

Not if you look at it logically.

Last year Wigan played Leeds four times and won two each. Saints played Wire four times and won two each.
Wigan played Wire twice and Wire won both.
Saints played Leeds twice and Saints won both.

Leeds won two of their three games v Wire
Wigan won three of their four games v Saints.

Fair enough, can't argue with that. Also, having just looked at the fixtures, we play Leeds the week before which was probably part of the decision too.

I wonder if season ticket holders still get a discount for the magic weekend ?

I really enjoyed it last year apart from our game.

Leeds and wire played four times winning two apiece. If you're including CC games, that is.

Loads of people still call it Millennium Magic when obviously it has moved away from Cardiff and now dubbed Magic Weekend.

Just goes to prove that the concept was catchy but the RFL don't see it.

I had to laugh. Last night my eldest daughter and I were on our way to visit my mam (she's fallen and broken her hip) in Wigan Infirmary. My daughter thought it was unfair for Wigan v Leeds and Saints v Wire not to play on the same day at Manchester.

What about all the Wigan and Saints fans from Billinge who normally travel together for games like this.

Because I would class Wigan and Wire as the top 2, then Saints and Leeds as 3 and 4.

I'd take Leeds at city too. Lets face it that early on in the league they ain't going to be bothered.
