Him or Brough are exactly what we're lacking at the moment - stick either in a red vee and we'd instantly be odds on favourites for trophies next season. You won't get any change out of 300 grand for either though (even with Chase's problems and rumours of Cas wanting rid) so there's no chance of them at Saints any time soon. I reckon Chase will be in a Leeds or Hull shirt next year.

He has a kicking game , doesn't panic on the fifth tackle and doesn't go hiding at acting half.

Bring that kind of creativity in would destabilise the camp and undo all things that have been built since march.

That Gaskell nearly ruined us with his long kicking game and crazy notions of a stand off play until he was sidelined.

Chase's kicking game is weak. On a par with Lomax. He would block Jonny's development rather than playing alongside him. He's the right player for us, but at the wrong time I think. Brough, however...

Absolute craziness... If we had Chase then we wouldn't have to keep on with the ultimate futility of trying to make Lomax into a creative half and could actually utilise him in the 3/4s where he will be vastly more effective instead. Chase might not have the greatest kicking game or be the greatest organiser, but he's a sight better in both areas than Lomax probably ever will be, and brings so many other skills and so much more quality in other areas to the table that frankly who cares? Stick Lomax at #4, Gaskell alongside Chase in the halves to do his long kicking for him and just let him run riot behind our dominating pack. I'll have some of that please. I wouldn't say no to Brough alongside Lomax either mind you... Now that could be a devastating partnership...

Think it'll be a issue with any club to be honest. If Cas are keen to get rid then I guess a loan deal is the only option. They wouldn't get any transfer fee but they would get him off their salary cap. Serves Cas right to be honest, they conjured this 5 year deal with Chase on the assumption he'd want to go after a year but they'd be able to command a hefty transfer fee. As it is they've got a player who doesn't want to be there costing them quite a bit of wedge
