Could this be the first time the derby isn't televised?

Still a TBA on the SkySports site for next weekend and I think the other game which is scheduled for Friday (Salford and Wakefield) is more interesting from a top eight POV.

Have you been any saints v Wigan games this year?

Only missed the Good Friday game, we've been absolutely abysmal for 35 minutes today though. We've done it a lot in the last few months, we don't show up until the 2nd half.

We was abysmal for full 80 mins on Friday aginst one of the worst teams in super league.

I woukdnt worry about Friday If I was you, it will be another big score.

They've just said we're on SKY on Friday. Plus a game on Sunday which is TBA after the Wakefield v Widnes game.

Ok now I'm saying IF. If we won against Wigan on Friday, would people start to regain the possibility of doing the same as last year????

I understand and I am also of the opinion that we can't get to the final again. However as it gets closer and closer to match day that sporting fan takes over from the logical and factual and the what if factor takes over.

The same as playing Wigan 4/5 times in a year dilutes the event, yet as it gets closer to game day the interest does pick up.

What do we think will we break our duck or at least put in a competitive performance??

That's my big worry. I really don't want us to reach Old Trafford this season, we're so rudderless and devoid of a captain and of creativity and control in the halves that we'll never win the GF, so avoiding it altogether would be the best thing for us.

No. This Friday will be meaningless to Wigan as they have already secured the hubcap. They will likely rest players ready for the play offs.

Which will make our loss all the more worse.

what if the grand final was against Wakefield?

I'm not looking forward to Friday at all. I don't think wane is the type to rest players in a derby game unless players have slight injury worries.

I'd fancy Wakefield to win the way both sides are playing.

We need a hit out against another strong defence so that we know what it feels like. Warrington caught us cold the other week by raising their game. Not that I'm hopeful of winning or anything but we need a hard run out.

What a stupid comment that is...even if we got to OT and lost again, I would rather be there than go out in the playoffs. Every year on GF night, there are 12 other teams that would happily swap places with the 2 involved and to say you dont want to get there is ridiculous

Completely agree with this as it is the aim of every team to make it to Old Trafford for Grand Final Night. I would like to think we've saved our best for the end of year route to Old Trafford.

This i doubt highly. Expect more of the same, unless we get some major motivation it will be a quick and slightly less painful exit to 2012.

There's a very, very good chance that we will have to play at the DW 3 times in 4 weeks - for me it would be a monumental mistake to approach this weekend's game with any great degree of seriousness at all or expend any great amount of energy on trying to win it. We should be resting a few players on Friday and keeping Rush's brilliant tactical plan (pfff) under wraps and then using the 2nd game the week after as a more serious warm-up instead so we are then ready and raring to go with all guns blazing at whatever meagre hopes of producing a performance we have for the 3rd game. And then we can go to O/T and get torn to pieces by Warrington. Marvellous.

Of course nothing of the sort will happen and the exact same 17 will turn up for all 3 games playing exactly the same tactics and exactly the same 1-up football and get mullered in exactly the same way each game.

Full strength team for this game, if there is a possibilty of Wigan resting a couple and there is a sniff of winning , I would take it. That means we finish 3rd and play Wire, winnable.

I'm old school. Every Wigan v Saints game matters at any level (and any sport) I don't care if both teams field reserve sides, the result will always be in the history books.
