They're right though. Rush does sound monotone and boring. If he speaks more than a couple of sentences, I drift off.

Mind you, I can't stand to listen to Wane even for two sentences. My ears start to bleed.

All that crap he spouts that he's not happy when they just 40 points on a team is all for effect and the chompers all get sucked in.

I'd sooner listen to Rush any day than have to listen to that ape from over the hill. I'd rather look at Rush too. lol

I think it's less about Rush being monotone, and more about how arrogant and aloof he is in interviews.

I've seen him interviewed about four times, and each time, he's smirked at the interviewer, rolled his eyes and given sarcastic answers to questions. Not the way for a professional Super League coach (even if he is only filling in for the time being) to conduct himself. He just is not likeable.

Yes, we know Wane talks with a Wigan accent, and broad Wigan accents make people sound thick - I'm the first to admit that, especially when people speak lazily. But listen to what he says and how he says it. Wane conveys passion, whereas Rush conveys the attitude of a big soft baby.

. It's not something I've ever noticed with him, he's not a great orator and his interviews aren't sparkling, but I've never thought he was overly sarcastic or smirked.

Whether he's likeable or not is not something I can comment on as I don't know him, but he does lack the charisma of someone like Millward.

I've only seen the interview after the last game v Wakey and he seamed fine. He can see the penalty count is a problem and blames himself for that.

I must have missed the memo where mea culpa is now defined as arroagance rather than the buck stops here.

Rush comes across as a bit of a bottom kisser, the type of bloke who just says what he thinks his boss or the players want him to say.

I'll bet he'll really happy to stand down if Sts win the CC and/or the GF, or so he'll say.

When he blames himself in his comments regarding the penalty count, he is quite obviously being tongue in cheek.
He believes that the penalty count was completely unwarranted; in fact he alludes to that before he makes the "it must be me" comment.

He said he couldn't understand it and he will need to speak to Cummings about it for guidence for his own ignorance; so he knows how to be sarcastic!

I'm surprised there was no thread about the very odd one sided pen count. In a match we dominated it is strange the pens should go against us.

Not really. If the pens we conceded were in the less harmful areas of the field then they need not impact the level of domination. Of course we were also helped by the fact that Wakey couldn't really exploit the 15 opportunities we granted them. Our discipline has been poor all season so that we conceded so many doesn't surprise me.

Yes really. I think if you dug out the stats from RL Express etc it would be rare to see a winning team concede a lot more penalties than the losing opposition. You generally give away penalties when you are losing the collision and losing metres; not when you are dominant
