Interesting how they call friendlies "trials".
Perhaps SL clubs should follow suit - it might make players and fans take them more seriously.

That Michael Ennis, plays 9. Captain of Bulldogs next year.

He has quite a "reputation" in Australia for getting under the oppositions skin. A superb player though who would walk into any Superleague team.

Agreed. If it wasn't for Cameron Smith, he would be the starting hooker in the Aus team for me. Watched alot of the NRL last season and he was one if the standouts in a hit and miss canterbury side.

Can't wait til the newswasom kicks off in March. If you haven't yet subscribed to Premier Sports, it's well worth it with 3-4 Aus games every weekend, plus they will be starting their new live broadcast of Championship having won the rights. Apparently Dave Woods and Noble will be the commentary team, with the same no of cameras as sky games. Well done to them!

That is what he has been known as throughout the town for the past 10 years by players & fans alike.

He is Saints through & through (& has gone to challenge himself in the NRL).

At fans forums etc, people refer to him as Jammer probably as he comes across as a likeable character, to Saints fans any way.

If you really do find this cringeworthy, maybe that is just your problem.

You lot had some really great, very witty, nicknames didn't you :- Billy Whizz, Giz, Inga the Winga, Lockers etc. which a hell of a lot of you refered to them as.

Maybe you should stay on Cherry & White if we are more cringeworthy than yourselves.

I would say 99% of pro players are referred to by a nickname by their fello players. Usually its quite unimaginative like chop their second name in half and add an "o" at the end.

TBH having played myself I bet a few have different nicknames that maybe less 'press friendly'
