| Good win for the Saints today nothing more. Would like to give Sheffield a big wrap for there effort!
Crusaders so Im told would have pushed Leeds even closer or may have won had it not been for a moment of madness from there second rower Cahill who was sent off for a wild kick on Rob Burrow.

Absolute blinkered nonsense. Saints supporters are so utterly stupid it's beyond belief. I sat and listened to them moan and moan about Kyle not attacking the line. What kind of scrum half attacks the line on his own 20 yard line? Kyle wasn't involved a lot today as they aren't putting any ball through him, everything went to Wilkin. When it did go to Kyle he used it well and did take on the line. He didn't have a bad game at all and people need to get over their bitterness about what happened early on in the season.
Talking about useless, Tom Armstrong struggled today. I quite like him in glimpses but I'm not convinced where he'll play. Centre perhaps. Ashe seems to be perfect Saints youth, half McVities and half Rich Tea.
I thought it was a pretty average showing today. A chance to exhale after the exertions of recent weeks but there was no particular effort from most players today. Wilkin was good again, Meli, Gardner and Foster and Roby of course. Man of the match by some distance was Louie McCarthy Scarsbrook, thought he was superb today.

Totally agree with this post and especially about Kyle Eastmond. I was one who didnt want him to play for Saints again but he played very well against Hull on Bank Holiday Monday and today like you said everything went through Stand Off Jon Wilkin so he wasnt involved as much as last Monday. If he keeps going as he is (Eastmond) I would be more than happy to put the past aside and support him doing what he does best for Saints.

| Eastmond had an alright game. Put Roby through into a gap on a few occasions and took the line on when in a position to do so. Ashe picked up a knock when he hit the boards behind the sticks in front of the East stand. He was limping a bit afterwards and then they replaced him with Armstrong. A wise move as he could have aggravated it further had he stayed on the pitch.

Yes- three.
Kyle - groin strain
Nathan - reccurrence of his knee injury
Andrew Dixon - hip injury
No idea where we get halves and a fullback from now, unless Makinson has recovered and Wilkin can play 6 and 7 in one go! Hudds will crucify us!

I agree. And his try was the result of some excellent support play. Most fans at the match supported Kyle. Only a small minority were pains in the backside.

Centre is where he has been playing and at Leigh he has impressed. Foster slipped into fullback after Armstrong made the big mess up with the 40-20 attempt.

I agree with that too. But Saints looked absolutely knackered at the end of the match. That's worrying, especially since we now have three new injuries to contend with.

Agree again, although MoM was Wilkin I think. Once again, he really took on the game. Should shut up those who reckoned he wouldn't back up his Hull performance!

| I think Ashe not returning to play was a precaution, given he's just come back from a serious knee injury it would be understandable not to risk pushing him further.

That's a pattern that's emerged in most of our games this year. I think against Wigoon we didn't concede a penalty until either late first half or into the second. We are currently the least penalised team in the league which suggests that we are the most disciplined rather than favoured by officials.

Off-side rule and 10 metre rule was ref'd in two widely differing standards today.
Not impressed with Eastmond or Graham and Foster is only a goal kicker (and I know he scored a couple of simple tries) but didn't pull any trees up. Only Wigan (2icon_cool.gif and Quins (27) scored more than us against you, and we're only part-time. Quentin (6) is just finding his feet and Menzie (3) is a big power centre and neither could be properly contained. I think your forwards struggled with the Eagles pack being not only big, but mobile. [Most teams do I think that the Saints team thought they'ed wear the Eagles down and were surprised when the fought back.
Very surprised at how quiet the Saints support was.
Finally a huge thank you to the extremely helpful senior security officer (South Stand)and the south stand staff (orange and yellow jackets) and turnstyle security folks who went out of their way to be friendly and unbelievably helpful in solving problems over the lack of programmes in the south stand
Lovely comment was "they dont sell many this side so haven't provided any today, and only 400 were printed". Thankfully these staff helped out and we are extremely grateful.'"
Why was you surprised about how quiet the Saints support was? Saints were playing a average part time side, this was a nice weekend off from the intensity of SL. It was just about doing enough to win.

To be fair, though, we were just as quiet against Castleford on Easter Monday, except for during the final 15 minutes when the Big Fightback was on! I think Saints fans are just more responsive to what is happening on the pitch than some fans are. When Saints aren't firing properly, and they weren't firing properly against Cas (for whatever reason), Saints fans tend to go quiet. It usually means they are nervous in my experience! The minute the players do something which shows some spark, either brilliant play or major effort (in attack or defence), the fans respond. They also respond to real crisis moments, like the last 15 minutes of a game that we need to win and suddenly look like we could possibly win!
