I though Houghton just about matched him today, both made big inroads in to each others defence.

Roby is clearly the best English hooker in SL.

I think at some point you might see then both play for England at the same time.

Been very good all season and last year, since he took the staring position from Berrigan.

To be honest, first time ive seen him for a long time, but if you say hes been close to that level all season, its a shame if he doesnt get a call up.

If there is a better 'hooker', nay, better all-round player in SL than James Roby at the moment then I'm a monkey's uncle.

Houghton did play well today and was on a par with Roby but imo I think Roby is the best player in the league and MOS in waiting for me.

According to Rogues Mike McIlorum is better than Roby .. kinda says it all really

Best player in SL by a mile thus far this season. I thought he went off the boil after winning the MoS, but now looks to be playing better than when he won it. Do you think that Cunninghams retirement has anything to do with this? (IE More game time, less disruption, more rhythm?)

No I don't think I did. What I did say was that I believed McIlorum would play International RL.
He has already done so for Ireland, but accept that doesn't count with most fans (Tommy Martyn also played for them)

McIlorum has been included in the England squad for the Exiles game though, and that will count.
