| That's an excellent backrow.
I'm sure Joel, Lockers and Hoffman are quaking in their boots for when we face Saint's.
Seriously though that's a great HB combination if you can keep them both fit. Plus the best starting frontrow in SL in my opinion as well. As i say it's just a shame for you that those two good elements of your team are paired with two not so great one's in your backrow and backline.

That would be my team except i`d have Soliola in the pack with Flannery in the centres, he played his best rugby in that posistion last year.

| I'll be astonished if Soliola spends the season at centre, we are light in the back row and we need him there as the beef among the more athletic ones.

No your right the 15 minutes that Puletua put's in every half could be quite taxing for our lads.
By moving Tony P you'll lose the only bit of impact you have on the bench. Plus it forces Flannery into the centre's meaning a slow backline just got slower. Your short of a centre ideally. Perhaps a fully fit Wheeler (yes I know that's an unrealistic target) could maybe just maybe solve your problems. Of course that's assuming he's as good a centre as a lot of Saint's fans make out.

Who knows, it's still potential at this stage. But he's shown enough of it in his SL appearances to be a 1st team choice for me.

From what I've seen I'd have him at Wigan, his only fault is his injury record. If Rogues said it then Ive no reason to doubt him, I've got a lot of respect for Brian and his views on the game.

Although I didn't see much of Wheeler play last year (neither did you Saints fans ). I am aware of what a good player he is, I'm just still under the impression that he's a standoff as opposed to a centre. It's just a case of getting him fit and slim (according to a few on here).

Joel got shown up In the four nations,he's a flat track bully.
Hoffmans a workhorse who had a very ordinary last season.
Curly top puts a shift in when tackling, inconsistant with ball In hand can be good.
Nowhere near as good as you think they are.

He started at stand off, may end up back there, but a couple of years at centre won't so him any harm. Him getting fit and staying fit would be a start though

Spot on, but I still think I'm right but you know if I'm wrong I will hold my hand up.
It is true that Wigan were looking to sign him last year (for the 2010 season).
Anyway we've just signed another Wigan based halfback from another Superlerleague club close by, so let's see how he goes.

I'd definitely play Soliola in the pack, but we should not be going into a full season with Flannery as our centre. He did a decent job for a while, but he got found out against centres with good feet and a bit of pace. King (I think) had him on toast. My first choice would be Wheeler. If/when he's injured I'd put Soliola at centre, put Puletua at second row and use Clough as a prop from the bench.

Did we decide what Armstrong was doing this year - is he on dual registration? Leigh rings a bell, but I may have dreamt it.

Good. Given his try scoring feats last year in the U20s, some tougher footy playing 1st team for Leigh should let us know whether he's up to it in other areas and hopefully kick on. If he makes a fist of it there and Wheeler continues to struggle for fitness, it could well be a similar story as Emmit last year - boy can't get 1st team action, goes on loan to Leigh, gets recalled and turns out to be better than what we have, contract expires, signs for cas......oh wait.
It will be interesting to see both his and Frodsham's progress this year. I'll try and take in the Leigh v Widnes games if they're both playing.
